#5 on my countdown had a bit of an interesting story. It is actually held by a Heroes vid, but the vidder has pulled all of his/her vids from the internet, no longer comfortable with posting them, and so I am honor-bound not to pass it along here

In general, I hate voiceovers, but that's because most of the vids I've seen that use voiceovers seem to use them because they can't say what they want to say without them (my one and only vid with a voiceover uses it for that reason, too, so it's not exactly a stopper :P). When they're well done, they're okay. This vid, though. Becka skillfully made the voiceovers an integral part of the vid. They're not a crutch as they so often seem to be.

Seriously.
I love it.
I've had it on repeat for the last 10 minutes. (And I love how she did the voice-overs too.)

I love how you compare it to fandom itself because I guess that's what I was trying to do - capture that...very sincere magic we all feel when we're not busy feeling honour-bound to behave like we're oh-so-cynical and ironic - even me when I'm posting it, just a little. ;)
But yes, thank you - I've been kind of only half around LJ lately and this was really lovely to find. ♥
As tot he voiceovers - I'm glad they worked for you - I agree half the problem with voiceovers is the awkward background music from the original source - in this case I was lucky enough to have episode rips with 5.1 surround sound audio - this means that instead of just left-and-right speaker streams it has five different streams, one of which is usually an isolated dialogue track with no background music - so I had a technical assist in making sure the dialogue was "clean" before I used it. :)
Anyway, thank you again.
