I like the concept in Judaism where one prays a certain prayer (of thanks or blessing?) before such things as eating and more mundane things as trying one's shoes. Not that I would want to pray (give thanks) before every single thing I did, but there is something to the concept of "be thankful at all times," to quote Saul of Tarsus

That's a very nice sentiment.

In Judaism there are three parts to prayer.
1. Giving Thanks
2. Asking for whatever
3. Praise

Usually, when I want to ask for something I get caught up in giving thanks for everything in my life that I end up not going any farther because I realize how grateful I am for the life that I've got.

I'm so happy that you like your synagogue. it is nice to have a sense of belonging. I do remember that Suz made me laugh a lot. that is all I remember about her.
