So I wrote this fic about John and Sam sharing a bottle of Jack Daniels http://saberivojo.livejournal.com/108438.html#cutid1

dodger_winslow made me do it and I'm glad I did but I never got a chance to taste the newest member of the Jack Daniels family until today.

MMM. Neat it is kind of sweet but oh so smooth.  Splashed in ginger ale?  Delish.  Now I need to find ( Read more... )

HA! I thought I did but it wasn't in my master fic list. Hopefully I will get it there. I wonder how many other fics aren't on my master fic list?

*Iz dumb*

I wouldn't even have a mastfic list if harrigan hadn't made one for me. Whenever I add something to it I have to go back and use her original template.

I wouldn't worry about being sorry. If I drink enough of this whiskey nothing will matter! :)

I am not a JD drinker, but a few weeks ago they were passing out free samples at a bar where I was drinking something else, and I really enjoyed it. I drank two free shots on the rocks and found it to be pretty smooth. I was thinking it would be nice in some iced tea...

Iced tea sounds good. See, I cut my teeth on Jack and Ginger. As a young whippersnapper that was my drink of choice. Back when I rode Harley Davidsons and hung with bikers.

True.

But I slowly changed to beer, then wine - now I enjoy Jack sometimes, and sometimes Jameson. But I tend to stick to the less high octane stuff.

I think it could be really great as a mixer or fine neat - I just need to figure out what to mix it with.

You know I love me some JD, sister, but that honey shit...I don't know. I just don't care for it. I think it's more the honey flavor than how sweet it is. But you rock on with your bad self. :D

I was thinking of you. *hand to God* when I sat down at my kitchen table. Shades of you and me and a bottle of Jack.

I wasn't sure if you would laugh at me or drink with me. Or both. 'Cause I can see you laughing your fool ass off at my girly drink.

I liked it though, but it is not the JD I grew up with.

Still, I'm gonna drink it, play a little with it. I'm proud of JD for trying something different, even if they are marketing themselves to women. Which isn't really true because there is plenty of us girls who like Jack Daniels.

But the younger kids tend to go for Jameson for some reason...I think they are trying to expand their drinking audience.

That's true--my daughter will pick Jameson over JD every time. I like Jameson, too, it's just different, you know? I can do most liquor, except for scotch, and OMG, Jager. That shit is disgusting.

Agree with you on Jager. So maybe the JD vs Jameson is generational?

I had chance to sample this at the local liquor store and thought it would be better than rum to soak my great-great grandmother's fruitcake recipe. :)

Now that is a thought. My mom makes fruit cake (sometimes) and I bet this would be pretty damn good on fruit cake.

Still, I'm gonna do some in depth research that will require a. A designated driver or B. Staying at home.
