Thanks, Rap. Unfortunately, this is a pretty active fandom. It's a pretty ship-based fandom, though, and as usual, I don't write the primary ship, which means I'm pretty much invisible.
Yeah, I'm totally with you. *hugs* I keep having the same reaction. I mean, there you are working for 12 very long chapters until you get them to kiss and who cares? Not a whole lot of people.
I have not gotten around to reading your fic yet, but it's the very next thing on my list and there will be excessive commentary. I loved the first one. I don't doubt that I'll adore the sequel.
So, you know, the small group of people who will comment eventually, those will love it, and those are who we write for anyway. It's a bit of a summer hole right now, too. I know some of my small audience are currently just afk.
I read another chapter of SC over lunch today. 7 down and... 5 more to go to get caught up? Heh. Probably 6 by the time I actually get there, but I am enjoying it.
I loved the first one.
I didn't realize you'd read it. How did I miss that? O_o
I know some of my issues are caused by simple timing - the archive went live over a holiday weekend and right at the beginning of our school year so people are generally off doing real life things, but still. Ugh.
Oooh, yeah, I read it early on - I loved it! Don't tell me I didn't leave comments. I'll leave comments the next time I go back to it. :) I have a firm comment rule.
And, heh. You might get a chance to read up on SC, because I'm awfully behind on writing it. Thanks for the comment. :) Made me happy.
Yeah, maybe it'll just take some more time for people to read Rebellious because it's long, too. I mean, here I am, waiting for an opportunity to read it. Other people might have a similar issue. That's definitely a problem of posting long fic all in one go.
I keep telling myself that - end of summer, school starting up again, holiday weekend here in the States. Here's hoping more people have time to read our monster fics soon. And since I'm taking a semi-break from writing (one shots only, not WIPs or longfic), I'm going to do some reading: you, Joan, and Lorata all have fics out that I need to read.
Sweets, I'm on my way out the door to pick up the oldest from school, but I want to talk to you about this. Are you going to be available tonight? We can IM once I get the kids to bed, if you're around.
Until then, hang on to that love. It's definitely not done with you yet. I'm not letting you let this change that. Remember that psychically called asteroid? I've got one and I'm not even the slightest bit wibbly to use it.
Think daisies and sunshine, sweets. Who doesn't love a little daisy now and then?

I might be? My sister and her husband are arriving tonight from San Diego and I don't know how late they'll be awake, but if I'm online, if you're on gmail, I'm happy to gchat. ♥
I've actually never used gchat, but signing into my gmail account should make it show up on the Message portal for Mac, I believe. We'll figure it out. I'll PM you my account so you know where to look, at least. If you don't find me tonight, no big deal. The offer always stands. :-)
Have fun with the family tonight! After not seeing mine for a year, seeing them a couple weeks ago was this huge revelation. I'm jealous.
Now, how's that asteroid coming? Did Bruce Willis get his grubby paws on it?
Long time no see (hear) :) I'm butting in here because you mention that your family was coming from San Diego (yes?)
If you ever go out to visit them I am only 75 minutes away and while it's been many years I would love a visit if you're in the vicinity. I'm now finally settle back in CA (in south orange co.)
I was reading your post and that line from that Crowded House song popped into my head. "Labor of love is ours to endure" your writing has so long been based on the love of the writing. I'm glad you are still shipping alternate ships (and that makes me think back to the early days of Helo/Boomer and I get all misty)
Movie fandoms are tough that way where interest will spike right after the movie for awhile and die down. Thankfully there are THREE more movies! So hopefully November will pick up for you. Just make sure you are primarily writing for yourself and the joy that comes from that and stay a part of the community, I know I'm more likely to comment on things from people I know and like.
