I hear ya. The state of the fanfic scene in the fandom makes me sad, for a lot of the same reasons. I'm an Everlark shipper, but with a few notable exceptions, I have no interest in modern day AUs. I like historical, because the books are clearly built around historical events and I find it fun to explore that. And I enjoy good crossovers, if it's something I'm familiar with. But basically, all I want are canon or Panem UAs at this point.
I'm taking an extended break from all THG fic right now, including my own, but rest assured Victorious and Rebellious (as well as all of Joan's work) are at the top of my list when I start reading again. In fact, I was just telling BBBD last night that you two are the two fic authors I'm most interesting in reading still. (And if anyone else writes good THG fic that's Panem-based, I'll add you to that list as well!)

Aw. Thank you! I appreciate that and I'm sure Joan will, too.
I'm looking forward to hearding what you think about V and R, when you get to them, and if you read my beloved Treading Water, I'd love to hear what you think of that one, too. *hug*
aw, that's awful. I hate that feeling. Especially that feeling when you stumble on some other fic that has a zillion hits and proves those readers actually exist, they just like OOC MCU Tower Shenanigans Curtain Fics Everlark Modern AUs that you have no interest in writing. :(
I'm sure yours'll gather more readers, but I know it sucks in the meantime. {hugs}
If it helps any, you'll definitely be hearing from me once I find enough time to read your hetbigbang fic. I really have been planning too, but I still have a lot of schoolwork and adjusting to do before I can continue reading and writing fic again.
Anyway, from what I've read of yours so far, I think you're a great writer and it makes me sad that you're not getting deserved recognition. And you're right, the HG fic on AO3 is mostly modernAU!Everlark - and it's becoming very uninteresting. In this way I prefer FFN because even though you have to sift through a lot, there's much more diverse stuff over there.
I hope the CF movie inspires new ideas and maybe even new fans. There will definitely be an influx in Finnick appreciation, which may lead people to your stuff?
Yay! I'm glad to hear that. :D Um, about you reading my fic, not so much about a lot of schoolwork and adjustment. ;)
Thank you for the kind words, too. You make me feel guilty, since I haven't read much of your fic yet. But you, too, are on my reading list.
I'm torn between FFN and AO3. FFN has a wide variety, but I hate the way they do reviews and replies. I like replying, but I don't like that PM function much. AO3 is more limited and the fandom there now seems to be mostly Everlark, but I like their format better.
When CF comes out, there will definitely be a new influx of fans and fics, just like when THG came out. *crosses fingers*

Joan does appreciate this. Thanks, hon. <3 BBBD and I were actually chatting about this over text today as I drove hours and hours of Iowa. ;)

FWIW, I liked that Odesta fic you sent me. You had some great ideas there. Did you ever post it? I missed it, if you did.
