The Helo/Athena/Boomer thing killed me, even more so than the loss of Hera. I am so terrified that the writers are going to make Athena resentful and unforgiving of Helo, when we know she wouldn't be, because you're right, there's no way he could have known unless he spent more time with her.

Ugh. I'm going to be suffering so much until next week.

I am on Helo side in this, there was nothing he could do, he was expecting his wife and that's what he got.

Boomer is totally broken, and its Cavils fault. Poor Chief, he owes a lot of people after this episode.

I still feel Sharon and Helo will get through this. I think the writers took Hera away because thats how you find out how important something or someone is, you loose them. I also believe that Sharon and Helo will get Hera back.

It's a little scary how much your thoughts echo my own (is it possible we're cylon-sisters?! If so, I promise to never frak your husband or steal your child!).

I'm waiting until my angers subsides before I post my thoughts on the episode because, like you, I think it was a great episode (though, like you, I have no idea if I'll be able to sit through it ever again).

My little shipper heart was all aglow at the beginning of the episode, *squee*ing at the Tyrol/Boomer projections and his determination to save her...and then he found that frakkin' wrench...After that, every non-Kara scene had me cringing, on the brink of tears, screaming at my television until my throat was raw.

Possibly one of the best episodes of the series but like the Pegasus arc, on a re-watch, I'll probably have to fast-forward through some scenes.

Sending you (and all Helo/Athena, Tyrol/Boomer shippers) some love through my icon:)

Tyrol had to go for a wrench, he couldn't just give her a cup of tea with a sedative in it, and then stage the blackout after she was unconscious? She better not be dead, just concussed.

Oh, this episode upset me so much, and in such a good way. Over at TWOP, I made a poster that pretty much summed up my reaction to the sex scene "SICK and WRONG: I never thought I would be saying this"

I'm actually wondering if Helo might be harder on himself about what happened than Athena will. After all, when she came out all bloody and beat up, her first question was about Hera. Then we see them side by side, both bawling out that specialist. I think we're in for some nice, tandem, revenge.

Maybe they should have gotten matching tattoos or something.

Kara playing the piano, as it merged and slowly became "All Along the Watchtower" gave me some serious CHILLS.

Now that I've had a few days to process this, I like this ep even better than I did initially.

Unless something permanent (i.e., death) happens to Hera, I think Helo will definitely be harder on himself than Athena will be. But they're both devastated by what happened.

They should sooo get matching tats, but maybe something a little less flamboyant than Starbuck and Longshot. :P

Every scene Kara was in shone, man. Katee was perfect in this ep and her scenes were made of so much win.

I think we'll agree to disagree on the Helo/Boomer sex thing. I really have issue with him doing that.

I guess what I'm thinking, is that there are already a lot of random 8's running around on Galactica, shouldn't the daycare have been more stringent on whom they let Hera go with? Shouldn't Helo have been more careful as he knows that the 8's are not all on the same page? Also Boomer and Athena do not look exactly alike, just like all the 6's don't like exactly alike. Their hairstyles are different. Helo should have guessed, but I guess he just wasn't thinking like an officer, just like a man.

Maybe I'm just putting myself in Sharon's place and thinking "how could my husband EVER think another woman who looked like me is me?" because my husband knows me. He knows how I act - little things that we do when we have sex that no one else would know. I guess since they're Cylons, all bets are off though.

*hug*

While it's true there are random Eights running around, none of them save Athena is wearing a Colonial flightsuit and dogtags - all of the Cylon pilots in the briefing were in Cylon flightsuits. I still maintain that he had no reason to think anything was truly wrong until after the fact, which is when he would start second guessing himself (and rightly so) and seeing all the little clues that he missed before because of complacency or whatever.

Either way, though, TPTB did just about the only thing in the universe that could potentially destroy their relationship. And I seriously hope that it won't all be shoved aside because there is so little time left to tell the main story. All I really need is a line or two, a significant look or two, that says all is not forgotten about what happened between Helo and Boomer.

Very true about the Eights. But Helo is also blind because he trusts Athena completely. Not everyone on Galactica does, although it's better than it used to be. So I can see how he might be fooled and then second guess himself afterwards. Can you imagine how he's going to beat himself up after learning she came to steal Hera? Ouch.

Yes they did. And it's not nice at all. After all their struggles to get to a normal, happy marriage and family life. :(

I hope a lot of things get resolved in the last few eps but I fear they've broadened the story too much and added too many B stories so not everything will get wrapped up adequately.
