Chapter 7 Chapter 8 “Wah, there’s food already?” A loud voice cheered, and heavy footsteps could be heard. “Mm? They taste familiar?”
Kiseop whistled as he poured the contents from the pan into an empty dish. Bringing a small piece of the vegetable into his mouth, he chewed a little and smiled. “All done!”
“Hello, distant cousin~!” The same loud voice sang, and Kiseop turned around to greet the distant cousin of his.
He blinked back at the man, whose eyes brightened at the sight of him.
“Cafeteria worker!” The man grinned widely. “Hello, didn’t know you work for families too.”
Kiseop’s eyebrows twitched a little. “I’m…not working.”
“Oh? So you’re really my distant cousin? Oh, heh, I’m Alexander!” Alexander stuck out his tongue for a quick moment. “I thought you had two jobs or something.”
“Hello.” Kiseop greeted awkwardly.
“I was wondering why the food tasted so similar, so you’re the cook.” Alexander nodded. “Let’s be best friends!”
Kiseop slightly shivered, not knowing if it would turn out well.
-
“And he was so adorable when he was young! I can’t believe the both of you actually had so much fate together to meet in school.” Kiseop’s mother cooed while pinching Alexander’s cheeks. Alexander gave her a light peck on the cheeks, which made her smile brightly. “Such a gentleman right now! Kiseop! You have to learn from Xander!”
Alexander shook his head and politely declined the title with a smile, offering some branded cookies he ordered from overseas to everyone present. He brought at least thrice the number of cookies compared to the people present, urging the shy kids to eat up all they want.
“And it’s not fattening!” Alexander emphasised, easily getting three aunties reaching out for the cookies. “Here you go~!”
Kiseop silently observed Alexander for a while, finding Alexander really sociable and easily slipping himself in and out of conversations. He would then skip around and use a random conversation starter, before happily chatting away with the previously awkward distant family member.
It wasn’t long before it was Kiseop’s turn.
“Wow, are the cookies that nice?” Alexander chuckled, passing Kiseop a piece of tissue. “Your mouth is a little dirty~!”
“It is?” Kiseop thanked Alexander for the tissue and quickly wiped his mouth, cutting in before Alexander continued his casual conversation. “You are called Xander?”
“I liked that nickname since I was young, so it followed me up till this age.” Alexander nodded with an amiable smile. “You can call me Xander too!”
Kiseop smiled back, deciding Alexander was really nice after observing him for a while. “And I’m Kiseop-hyung.”
“Kiseoppie-hyung.” Alexander repeated slightly different, before giving a toothy grin. “Want some more cookies?”

Kevin blushed a little, noticing that Kibum was staring at him instead of his own textbook during their usual study programme one day. “Yes? I’ll get back to you in a while. If there’s any burning questions you have to ask, just ask.”
“Does spectacles help you in studying?” Kibum randomly asked.
The other two stared at him weirdly.
“...”
“Nerds always wear spectacles. Or at least that’s what I’m seeing. Will I get smarter if I wear them?” Kibum continued musing idly.
“I suggest you get back to your studies.” Kevin sighed, murmuring for Soohyun to ignore Kibum as he turned his head back to face the soccer player. “And remember that arteries and veins are almost the complete opposite, except for their permeability to water and solutes and the presence of three layers. I think it would be better if you construct a table noting the difference. Something like this, but you do it yourself so you remember it better.”
Soohyun nodded at the paper Kevin took out of his own file. “Can I copy?”
Kevin bit his lower lip and looked at Soohyun as if to size him up. “All right. Ten times.”
“What?!” Soohyun pouted.
“Better for your memory, don’t complain.” Kevin shrugged. “Now, you. Don’t start on the spectacles thing, I’ll murder you.”
“Can we meet on Saturday?” Kibum asked.
Kevin blinked. “Erm, for what?”
“Well, there’s this quiz coming up. Need massive help, more than this week’s sessions can give.” Kibum jabbed his fingers at his mathematics worksheets. “Massive. Help.”
“I swear, I really need to get paid for this.” Kevin nodded anyway, schedules usually free. “Where?”
“McDonalds, the one near our school.” Kibum grinned, shaking Kevin’s hand thankfully. “My mother’s considering your pay, really. She’s checking the rates around and wants to pay you double.”
Kevin widened his eyes. “Seriously?”
“Yeah, my mom’s crazy about you too. She says that at least she sees me doing your homework, even if for ten minutes, she’s thankful. She’s going to introduce my sister to you, but don’t worry, I didn’t tell her your name.” Soohyun added on. “She did say something about sending money to your address too. She thinks I’ll take away with the money, how trusting.”
“Wow.” Kevin raised his eyebrows. “Not the untrusting part, but wow. That’s kind of cool. I have a new career option already.”
“What do you want to be, actually?” The duo chorused, taking an interest in their study teacher’s life.
“I don’t know.” Kevin shrugged. “Constantly keeping my options open, that’s why I’m taking many subjects.”
“Do you want a pay?” Kibum nudged. “If not, I can take away with the money.”
Soohyun rolled his eyes at Kibum. “If you’re mocking me, shut up. I can kick a soccer ball and ruin your pretty face.”
“Be my guest.” Kevin and Soohyun stared at him, both in awe since they aren’t exceptionally good-looking. If they were, they would cherish their face. “No, really. Be my guest.”

Eli ended up being bugged by Dongho. He had gotten friendlier (sort of), but more annoying (very).
“Elison Kim!” Dongho frowned, standing akimbo with his notebook and pen by his side. “Answer me and I’ll forgive you for calling me a kid.”
“Kid-No, sorry, Dongho-ssi, I already told you everything I know.” Eli sighed. “And I apologised at least twenty times, could you let me practice? Either that or you run around the school with me.”
“I cannot run, the strong ultraviolet rays from the sun kills my fragile brain cells, and they don’t reproduce. If I lose my brain cells, I would never get to the end of this life-long project.” Dongho shook his head firmly.
“Well then, have fun in the shade, I’m running.” Eli shrugged, unable to resist patting Dongho’s head. “If you actually smiled and said cute things, you would be so adorable.”
Dongho stared blankly at the running figure of Eli, cheeks slightly flushed. He hadn’t receive a compliment from the age of ten on being cute. He was either super smart, super cool, or super weird. The remaining soccer players looked at dazed Dongho, amused.
“Who’s he? Is he…gay for Eli?”
“So now even boys mistake Eli’s smooth talking and unable-to-reject attitude for love?”
“Hey, you’re the kid from before! Are you better?”
Dongho snapped out of his temporary trance and growled. “I’M NOT A KID!”
The soccer players quickly did their run.

I just realised, writers usually have their stories all developed BY CHAPTER 9.
Sorry, I'm still building the grounds T___T! I'm a horrid writer, still not yet at the main point, sorry. I don't really know where this story is going, so I might just put it on an unannounced hiatus someday :S
