Chapter 7 “You’re late.” Kibum commented, more to Kevin than Soohyun actually. His head was still facing his textbook, mumbling the information to himself, hoping he would remember them.
“Kibum?” Soohyun raised an eyebrow. Kevin wasn’t joking, Kibum was a nerd in making.
“Oh, sorry.” Kibum finally looked up and smiled. “I thought you wouldn’t come, so I was speaking to Kevin.”
Soohyun’s face twitched a little. So, Kibum didn’t exactly have a good impression of him with books.
“Sorry, I mean, you told me you’re the captain for the soccer team so I thought…” Kibum’s words trailed off, hoping he didn’t just offend his first friend.
“Enough of chit-chat, yes I’m late because I had to wait till he’s done changing.” Kevin replied, leaving two big books before Soohyun’s seat and three comparably smaller books on his own. “What are you standing here for? Go sit there.”
Soohyun grunted a reply and sat down next to the empty seat that is supposed to be Kevin’s.
“Why are you reading these books?” Kibum asked, glancing at the titles of the book Kevin picked.
“I have a debate competition coming up. My life doesn’t consist of the both of you only, you know.” Kevin explained, walking to his seat before settling down.
“Isn’t this time like for us? Why are you doing something else?” Kibum questioned innocently, plainly curious.
Kevin got offended, though. “Yes, it’s time for you guys, but I signed up for this. I’m not paid for any of this so as long as you both are kept busy, I can multitask and work on my competition too.”
“Oh, okay.” Kibum shrugged, giving Kevin a confident smile. “I’m done with the two chapters.”
Kevin nodded with a sigh, quickly coming up with fifteen questions while flipping the books in front of Soohyun to the right pages. “Read them, Soohyun-ssi.”
Soohyun almost complied, before staring back at Kevin. “I can’t.”
“What now?” Kevin groaned. “I said, enough of your-”
“No, no. I have a test coming up.” Soohyun quickly cut in, bringing out his diary. “It’s a test on logarithms, which, I have no idea about what the teacher is blabbering about ninety nine percent of the time on it.”
Kevin nodded, finishing up on coming up with question for Kibum. Timing Kibum and then turning to Soohyun, his debating work will have to wait.
“All right, what is the one percent that you know?”

Kiseop sighed. It was the fourth day of work only, but he was getting slightly bored of his job. Getting more detergent for his sponge before going back to scrubbing the trays, he pushed out his lips and thought of the interesting people he had met.
They shall be the ones that would make his stay in school an enjoyable one!
He can’t remember the name of the guy who ran out without paying (yes, he did pay, but that was the first impression) already. But there was this short middle school kid? Hm, Dongho! Yes, that kid sure is interesting.
And Kevin, who is registered in Kiseop’s brain already. Such that he decided he would make Kevin’s plate of lunch and leave it aside for him to collect when he arrives. Kevin would grin brightly with a thanks, paying and then returning to his classroom.
Oh, Kibum too. The very quiet guy that Kevin has an influence over.
Hm, and there’s this guy that keeps asking him for his personal information. Uh…Alec something?
For now, he pushed the students out of his mind and wondered how he should spend the coming weekend, though there’s still a Friday coming up.
At the moment, his phone rang and he washed his soapy hands before accepting the call. “Hello, mum?”
“Uh-huh, nope, no plans. I was just wondering how I was going to- Heh? Family gathering? Why the sudden need? I don’t want…I don’t like socializing with sane people. Haha, okay, I was joking. Yeah, I’ll be there. You’ll have to let me cook, all right? I shall show off! Hey, I’m a good cook! Students praise me once in a while. I mean- I mean not once in a while but, they’re shy~! AISH! I SAID I’M A GOOD COOK! MOM! Are you at facial again?! Fine, bye.”

Dongho couldn’t believe his luck (or the lack of it). There he was, standing behind the rude idiot who called him a kid. And hit his head with a ball.
“What’s your name, idiot?” Dongho asked crudely.
Eli turned around with a glare, before realising it was the boy he accidentally hurt. Deciding that his rudeness is probably because he’s holding a grudge, he shrugged away the question and waited in the queue.
“Hey! Don’t ignore me!” Dongho growled, turning Eli’s body around, before seeing muscles in Eli’s arm he hadn’t seen before.
Eli sighed, unconsciously flexing his arm muscles.
“What? You want to fight? I’ll take you on! I tell you, I’m from the prestigious Goryeong Shin, I have my family backing up for me! I’ll fight you any day!” Dongho ranted off, and Eli blinked at the shorter and skinnier kid.
“Hey, kid, don’t go around initiating fights.” Eli patted Dongho’s head and grinned. “You’re kinda cute.”
“I’M NOT A KID!” Dongho yelled, and everyone turned their heads towards him.
“He is a kid…”
“Hey, what is he doing in here? Shouldn’t he be in the middle school section?”
“Either that or he’s a dwarf.”
Dongho glared at everyone, tears welling up in his eyes. “I’M NOT A KID!”
“He’s not a kid, idiots. Don’t make poor baby cry.” Alexander cooed, ruffling Dongho’s hair much to his annoyance, walking in with his clique. “He’s the weirdo in the second year. He probably knows your family trees better than you guys do. Shin Dongho, isn’t it?”
Dongho twitched, not knowing whether Alexander is a friend or foe. “Alexander Lee Eusebio.”
“I guess you don’t need gossip to know my name, how interesting.” Alexander grinned. “Wanna exchange some information? I’ll tell you his name and you’ll tell me something I’ve been longing to know.”
Eli stared at Alexander. The name was familiar, and the people he hang around with…he saw his ex-“girlfriend” in the crowd behind him. Oh, right, the school’s gossip guy. No wonder he knew his name.
Alexander easily cut the queue, standing behind Dongho as they exchanged information. They weren’t friends, but maybe exchanging information isn’t such a bad idea to the both of them.
“Oh, he’s a Kim? I knew it!” Dongho whipped out his notebook and frowned. “Why don’t I have him on my list…?”
“He’s a Korean American, sweetie.” Alexander shrugged, smirking at his new revelation about that girl he had been hating on. “Want to know some more? I need to know something else too.”
Dongho happily supplied Alexander with what he knew to get what he wants to know.
Eli could only stand before the two guys and hear his own information being said out loud.
