Technically it should cover these areas , but then look at characters like Bauske's avatar..

He's a Lion .. but he changed the style of the mane ^^

thats not bulky proportion, you only make big lion.
i am a bulky freaks so sorry that one isn't bulky proportion.
well try to find which part :D

for mane well its up to the artist. but i think it would be little weird if there's no mane on lion neck, no mane in his shoulder or chest is ok, but must in in neck. well maybe just me. ask melchi he's pro

Soal surai, bisa memang beda sih. Tapi soal proporsi, yang wa maksud itu di gambar sebelah kiri itu kayak nempelin kepala wolverine ke badan Juggernaut.

I can see what you mean, but everyone has a different way of showing off their mane. If I had any good artistic skills, I would show you what I mean, but right now I think my cat has better art skills than I do *sobs*. Oh well, I believe I will get better, I hope *starts to worry*.

But there is nothing wrong with drawing characters larger than proportion. In my opinion, when things are larger you get to see more detail the artist put into their work.

Yeah, some might be. But what I pointed here, it's like putting the head of Wolverine into the body of Juggernaut.

*takes a closer look* Oh... Oh my *snickers*. Now I see what you mean. The head is a little disproportional to the body. XD

By the way how do you downsize the body then so it matches the head?

I see what you mean! The first picture is more suited to a comic-book superhero type, a really massive guy who is supposed to take up the whole page. The second picture is better suited to a more serious shot, as the proportions are more realistic.

Yeah, kinda... but what I pointed here, it's like putting the head of Wolverine into the body of Juggernaut.

He does have big feet :) That is probably the only thing that's too big on the left.
