I'm working on a new fic. Yes, I realize I'm already doing two long-running series and I don't update them enough. But... I have inspiration, darnit! I do promise, however, that none of my fics will be canceled, and I'll try to maintain at LEAST a once-a-month update for each of them. School and my life allowing, of course ( Read more... )

Sorry you're sick.
I'm trying to think of when Michael is at the loft. Season 1, episode 14 when Kip Thomas sues Brian for sexual harassment. Season 3, episode 3 when Justin brings over the sketch for the carnivale and Michael arrives with dinner and Brian says since you got dinner I've got dessert and lights up. I don't know when else.
I know there's a line somewhere that they've been best friends since they were 14 (which should be like freshman in high school), but then other times it's implied they've known each other since middle school, or since they were ten or something....
Can't wait to read the new story! I love teenage Brian Kinney!

I believe Brian and Michael met when they were 14 (although Michael is supposed to be a few months older than Brian). They talk about high school a couple of times but I think the one you are thinking about is when Michael finds out about the cancer and goes to Brian's, gets high, they talk about high school and then Mikey lets it slip that Justin told him about the phone message from the oncologist.

Okay, in season 4 episode 1, when Michael gives Brian back his car, and Brian is chastising him for eating in it, Brian says, "It's just like that time in seventh grade when I lent you my brand new ten speed...."

They always say they met when they were 14. The only deviation I recall is, like mentioned, in season 4 when Brian mentions seventh grade. (Clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0oAyS_I3sA) No one is 14 in seventh grade...guh! Writers ( ... )

I forgot to mention that the first season DVD also says this:

WHEN DEBBIE MET BRIAN: Debbie met Brian when Michael dragged him home from junior high. They were both 14. She knew that Brian was going to be trouble…but she also knew that deep down he was a good kid who truly cared about Michael. It wasn’t long before she recognized that Brian, just like her son, was a budding queer who was struggling with his sexuality. She also sensed that the taller, tougher boy would protect Michael, but might also break his heart someday.

That says Junior High. Now, you can be 14 in the 8th grade (which is Junior high), but you're 13 in 7th. I seriously doubt Brian failed any grades.
