Apr 22, 2009 22:20

Hello everyone!
I started posting this on jent_fanfiction, but have decided to put it up on here as well. This is the 3 first chapters of my first Johnny's Entertainment related multi-chapter fanfiction. Enjoy!

Title: A Place In The Sun
Fandom: KAT-TUN and NewS
Pairing: Ryoda (Obviously!) and mentions of Akame.
Genre: Friendship, humor, fluff and maybe a hint of some kind of romance.
Rating: PG/PG-13 maybe…
Summary: Ueda finds himself on a bus going to who-knows-where, and his traveling partner is none other than Nishikido. Bad summary… sorry!
Warnings: Nothing really, except for some use silliness and maybe some out of character… and maybe some bad grammar and misspelling.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot, but I sure wish I owned more...
Inspiration: The nice, warm and sunny weather that has been with me the last few days and the song Summer Time by NewS is also a source of inspiration kinda...

Chapter 1

Ueda Tatsuya, the U in KAT-TUN, was on his way into the Johnny's Entertainment building for another day filled with dance practice. Today he was in a particularly good mood, humming to the song Summer time by NewS. He had been humming it ever since he woke up this morning by the sunlight shining in through his bedroom window. A smile had sneaked upon his face as he woke up and had stayed there ever since. He felt like this was just one of these days when everything will be going great. One of these days when you feel like the whole world is smiling at and with you.
He was just about to open the door to the building, when he noticed something that stroked him as rather odd. Behind a bench not that far away from where he was standing someone was kneeled down, almost as if hiding from something. The curiosity got the best of him and he let go of the door handle and slowly walked over to the bench.
"What are you doing?" He asked looking behind the bench only to realize that it was the one and only Nishikido Ryo who was sitting there.
"Ssh!" Ryo said grabbing a hold of Ueda's arm and pulled him down beside him, not even bothering to look at the man. "Be quiet or they'll find me"
"Who?" Ueda asked now getting even more curious; who could it be that he was hiding from…
"Bakanishi and Yamapi" Ryo answered still not aware of who the man next to him was as he was busy looking out for his best friends. "I lost a bet to those two, and now I have to take the consequences. But I figured that if I manage to stay out of their sight all day they might forget all about it" he explained to Ueda without being asked about it.
"Not even Jin is as baka as that, he'll never forget something that fast, especially not winning a bet" Ueda said as a matter of fact. "Any way if you don't mind asking, what was the bet about?"
"It was about…" Ryo started but stopped as soon as he saw Yamapi, Jin and Kame walking up to the building. Jin had a firm arm around Kames shoulder, and they were all laughing along to something that one of them obviously had said just moments ago. Suddenly Kame stopped walking and pointed towards the bench while saying something to the other two.
"Shit, we better run" Ryo said grabbing a hold of Ueda's arm, still not being aware of whom he was, and pulling him with him as he started to run away. Ueda had no other choice but to follow as Ryo ran down the street as if running for his life. Which he probably did Ueda figured since he knew that Jin and Yamapi's idiotism sometimes could make you wish you were dead. Ueda looked over his shoulder and noticed that no one was following them but Ryo still didn't stop running.

They ran for a good few minutes until Ryo dragged him with him on to a bus. He paid for them both not caring where the bus was heading.
"Uh, Nishikido-kun, where are we going?" Ueda asked as they sat down, and it was first now that Ryo realized who his company was.
"Princess?" Ryo asked looking shocked at the man next to him.
"Uh, yeah. But I would like it better if you called me Ueda-kun" Ueda answered calmly as the bus started to drove off.
"What are you doing here?" Ryo asked ignoring Ueda's comment.
"You dragged me along with you. Didn't you realize it was me?" Ueda asked surprised, sure he had been shocked that Ryo had dragged him along since they weren't exactly the best of friends. But he had at least thought that Ryo had realized that it was him he had taken with him.
"Of course I didn't or I wouldn't have dragged you along with me" Ryo snorted and turned his head around looking out through the window. "And to answer your first question, I don't really know where we're going"
"You don't know? You just jumped onto the first bus you saw?" Ueda asked in disbelief. "What if we end up in some kind of creepy ghost town?"
"Calm down fairy princess, where is your sense for adventure?" Ryo said glancing at Ueda from over his shoulder. Ueda just crossed his arm in front of his chest and glared at Ryo. This day was definitely not going to be as good as it had first promised him in the morning.

They had been on the bus for about fifteen minutes when Ueda's phone started buzzing. He sighed when he saw who it was before answering.
"Moshi Moshi?" He answered being prepared for the worst.
"Tat-chan, it is Kame" the voice on the other end said. "Where are you?"
"Uh… " How should he explain to his friend that he currently was sitting on a bus next to Nishikido Ryo and not knowing where the bus was headed. "Well… I'm…"
"Are you with Ryo-san?" Kame asked surprising Ueda by it.
"How did you know?" Ueda asked throwing a glance towards Nishikido who still was looking out through the window but now with his earphones in listening to some music.
"So you are?" Kame inquired "And it was quite easy to guess since Yamapi, Jin and I saw you two running away as if you had some kind of monster chasing you"
"Uh, well yeah I guess we were." Ueda chuckled nervously. "I mean at least Nishikido had, he was running away from Jin and Yamapi and he just dragged me along. He wasn't even aware that it was me."
"I see" Kame chuckled too. "So where are you guys now? You are coming back to work, right? I can understand if Ryo wont but you sure must be coming back, right?"
"I'll try too, but I don't know when." Ueda said carefully. "I mean Ryo dragged me onto this bus and we're not sure of where it's heading…"
"You are on a bus?" Kame said and Ueda could almost see how his eyes grew bigger. "And you don't know where too? Are you crazy? Why didn't you get off the bus?"
"Before I could it had started moving" Ueda answered. "But I'll try my best to get back as soon as possible. Okay?"
"Okay" Kame sighed. "I'll just tell the others that you went on an impulsive trip with Ryo"
"No, don't tell them that or they'll get ideas. Jin's already thinking that the both of us have some kind of thing for each others."
"Sorry, too late." Kame said "The others just walked in and heard me and is now staring at me with wide eyes. Well I'll better explain it to them. See ya and have a good time, ne?"
"I'll try. See ya Kame" Ueda folded his phone and put it back into his bag. He threw another glance in Ryo's direction and sighed. How in the world did he end up here with Nishikido Ryo of all people? He and Nishikido wasn't exactly known for getting along well together, quite the opposite actually, well at least in the past. They had been enemies and hated each others, where they stood now he wasn't quite sure since they never really talked with each other's more than necessary and they hadn't had a fight in a few years now. Maybe this "trip" would bring him some kind of clarity on the matter.

Another fifteen minutes later Nishikido's phone started to ring, but he showed no sign of noticing it, so Ueda patted him carefully on the shoulder.
"What?" Ryo growled clearly annoyed that Ueda had disturbed him, but pulled his earphones out.
"Your phone" Ueda answered simply and pointed at Ryo's bag.
"Oh, sorry" Ryo said and started searching for it. He found it soon, but to Ueda's surprise he didn't answer it. The phone soon got silent and he put the phone back in the bag.
"Why didn't you answer it?" Ueda couldn't help but ask.
"It was Yamapi and I don't really feel like talking to him" Ryo simply answered.
"He probably called to see if you really are on a bus with me" Ueda said more to himself.
"How would he know that?" Ryo asked surprised.
"Kame called and I told him. He got pretty shocked but calmed down pretty fast, and he probably told the rest of the band, and Jin probably told Yamapi and your band as soon as he got the chance." Ueda explained.
"Oh, great. Now Jin will never shut up about…" Ryo started but stopped halfway through the sentence.
"About the fact that we are secretly in love with each other?" Ueda continued the sentence.
"You know about that?" Ryo said eyes wide open, clearly surprised by the fact.
"Sure I do. Jin's been on that subject with me for years now" Ueda said as he started to scratch his neck. "And I think he's managed to convince the rest of the band as well"
"He can really get on my nerves that baka" Ryo growled.
"Yeah, but you can't help but like him anyways" Ueda smiled and Ryo joined him in on that smile.

Chapter 2

Ryo and Ueda had continued talking from time to time during the ride, but most of the time they just sat in a comfortable silence. Both of them in their own worlds, Ueda thinking about that maybe this trip would do them both some good and make them to some kind of friends. Something that he in fact would like since it would be good to have someone to complain about Jin's bakaness with, as he no longer could complained about it with Kame. Ever since Kame and Jin had officially started going out, or should he say making out, Kame thought that almost everything Jin did was cute. And the rest of the band mostly just found Jins´ idiotism a source for an easy laugh.

The bus ride lasted longer than Ueda had expected and four hours later the bus stopped at some small village by the sea.
"So, what now?" Ueda asked as they got off the bus and looked around. The village didn't seem to have much to offer. In fact all he could see was a few houses, one in which there was a small restaurant and it seemed like the village only had one street.
"How about we get something to eat? I don't know about you but I'm starving" Ryo suggested, and grabbed a hold of Ueda's arm not bothering to wait for an answer from the older man. Ueda got surprised by the sudden body contact but let himself get dragged along to the restaurant. Ryo didn't let go of him until they were sitting down at one of the tables in the restaurant. Except from them there was only a young couple there, sitting in the other end of the store acting all lovey-dovey and feeding each other.
"Don't you just hate public display of affection?" Ryo whispered to Ueda, making sure that no one else heard him.
"Not really, but I guess it depends on what level of display." Ueda answered. "I mean small kisses, hugs and feeding each other I think is okay. But full out make out sessions or worse sex is defiantly out of question."
"Yeah I guess." Ryo said as he started to look through the menu. "I once caught Jin and Kame making out in NewS dressing room. That was really disturbing, and that was before I knew they were an item, so you can imagine the shock I got."
"What were they doing in your dressing room?" Ueda asked confused.
"They said they'd been looking for me and Yamapi" Ryo answered. "But I'm still thinking they just wanted to hide away from everyone. We weren't supposed to be in for work that day, and Jin knew that. I was just there to pick something up that I left the day before."
"That is so typically them." Ueda mused. "I've caught them lots of times. The first few times they totally denied that they were making out with explanations like Kame had been unconscious and Jin was saving him by giving him mouth-to-mouth."
"Like anyone would believe that." Ryo snorted.
"Yeah, I thought Kame would be smarter than that." Ueda said shaking his head slowly. "But I guess spending that much time with Jin must rub off on him."
"Yeah, so what are you having? I think I'm just gonna have ramen." Ryo said putting away his menu just as the waitress walked up to them to take their orders.

An hour later, the guys left the restaurant to see what more this small village had to offer. They walked down the street and five minutes later they seemed to have walked through the whole village without seeing anything special at all just small houses and some people. The sun was still shining and was making them both hot and sweaty, even though they hadn't been out for long.
"This weather is killing me" Ryo complained as he wiped the sweat away on his forehead with the back of his hand.
"Well I guess we should be happy that we're not in Tokyo." Ueda said trying keep his spirit up.
"Yeah I guess." Ryo mumbled but soon his face shined up, and not because of the strong sunlight. "We're by the sea, right?" he said more as a statement than a question.
"Yeah, we're by the sea" Ueda confirmed.
"Then why don't we take a swim in it?" Ryo said with a smile. "I mean it will definitely cool us down"
"But we don't have any swimwear or towels with us." Ueda said a bit uncertain.
"We can bath in our underwear and the sun will do its job drying us afterwards." Ryo said grabbing a hold of Ueda's arm, again, and pulling him along with him.

Ryo stopped and let go of Ueda as soon as he had found what he was looking for, a beach. They were a bit outside the village, and in front of them a long nice beach was glowing in the sun. The soft waves were rolling into the shore splashing water and sending them some cool.
"Come on" Ryo said after they had been admiring the sight in front of them for a moment, getting a hold of Ueda's arm for the 5th time that day and walking down into the sand. A few meters from the water he stopped again and started to pull his clothes off. Ueda didn't make any signs of starting to take of his clothes anytime soon; he just stood there staring at Ryo. He seemed so carefree and like he thought getting undress in front of someone else was an everyday thing. Well it kinda is, since they both shared dressing rooms with their respective bands, but they had never gotten undressed in front of each other and for some reason the thought of doing that bothered Ueda a little. Ryo turned towards Ueda when he noticed that the other man wasn't moving.
"What are you doing just standing there and staring at me?" Ryo asked as he let his jeans drop to the ground and was now standing in nothing but his red boxers. "Maybe Jin's right about you. Maybe you have a crush on me and are now enjoying what you're seeing." He smirked.
"You wish" Ueda snorted getting back to his senses.
"Then start stripping, and let's jump into the sea." Ryo said impatient and when Ueda still didn't start undressing himself Ryo saw no other way but to help him with it. He walked up to Ueda and started to unbutton his shirt.
"What the…?" Ueda said pushing Ryo away from him. "What you think you're doing?"
"I'm helping you, since you obviously don't know how to undress yourself. I bet you have maids at home helping you everyday" Ryo smirked and continued to unbutton Ueda's shirt.
"For your information" Ueda said once again pushing Ryo away and continued to unbutton his shirt himself. "I can undress myself, and I don't have any maids. I am fully capable to take care of myself"
The shirt was now fully unbuttoned and he let it slide of onto the sand before he started to unbutton his jeans.
"Didn't seem like it." Ryo said still impatient and was about to help Ueda pull down his jeans but Ueda was too fast for him and slapped his hands away.
"I'm starting to wonder if it's not you Jin is right about." Ueda said pulling his jeans of. "I mean, you obviously can't get your hands away from me"
"Shut up princess." Ryo said grabbing a hold of Ueda's arm, again, and pulled him with him into the sea before Ueda had a chance to say anything more.

Chapter 3

The water felt nice and cool against their heated bodies, and Ueda was happy that Ryo had suggested taking a swim. He was lying on his back, floating peacefully in the water looking up into the sky, he felt truly happy. Suddenly he felt how something sneaked around his waist and pulled him down; he gave out a high pitched scream.
"Stop screaming you fairy" Ryo complained letting go of Ueda and covered his ears. "You make my ears bleed."
"Serves you right" Ueda snorted as he glared at Ryo. "You freaked me out and disturbed my peace."
"I had no other choice since you completely ignored me." Ryo smirked and splashed some water on Ueda.
"I was not ignoring you." Ueda said shielding himself slightly with his hands, not that it mattered really since he was already wet from head to toe.
"But you were boring, and no fun at all." Ryo said splashing more water on Ueda, clearly trying to annoy and maybe start a water fight with the older one.
"Stop splashing water on me." Ueda said splashing water back on a grinning Ryo.
"Make me." Ryo said and splashed even more water onto Ueda who was really annoyed by now.
"Oh I will" Ueda glared and Ryo started to back backwards grinning like mad. Ueda followed him quickly and Ryo started to run away from him laughing. It's not very easy running with water up to your waist and Ryo was sure he wasn't going to be caught, as he had some head start. His laughter was ringing through the air and soon made Ueda laugh too, but that didn't make him stop chasing Ryo. Suddenly Ueda managed to catch Ryo grabbing him around his waist and with that pulling them both down into the water, Ueda on top of Ryo.
"Ha got you!" Ueda said in triumph before he got up from Ryo and started to run away. He laughed and splashed water around him as Ryo got up and started chasing him.

After playing around in the water for about an hour they made their way back to the beach and fell down on to the sand. They didn't say a word; they just lay there on their stomachs looking at each other with smiles decorating their faces. Their comfortable silence was unfortunately disturbed 10 minutes later by both of their cell phones ringing. They sighed, got up and answered.
"Moshi, Moshi" Ueda answered walking away a little from Ryo to get some privacy.
"Ueda, how are you doing? Is everything okay with you?" it was Kame on the other end, but he could tell that the other members where listening in on them by the sound of whispers and muffled giggles.
"Yeah, everything's great." Ueda said, truly meaning it. "I'm having a great time. We just got up from taking a swim in the sea."
"You're by the sea?!" Ueda could hear the jealousy in Kames voice, and he heard loud gasps from the other members that were with Kame. "Lucky you. It must be great on a day like this."
"Yeah, it's really nice. And my company isn't half bad." Ueda smiled, glancing over at where Ryo were standing still talking on the phone.
"Uh, that's great." Kame said, and Ueda could tell he was smiling. "So when are you coming back?"
"Oh, I don't know. We haven't looked that up yet… I'll let you know as soon as I know, okay?"
"Mhm, okay. Well I have to go now, dance practice is about to start again. You have a lot to pick up on when you get back."
"I know, tell everyone hello from me, will you?"
"Sure will do, take care and have fun, ne?"
"I will, see ya Kame" And with that he hung up and turned around towards Ryo just to find him finishing up his conversation as well. He walked up to him and sat down on the sand again, Ryo joined him down on the ground.
"Who was it? Yamapi?" Ueda asked putting his phone into his bag.
"Yeah, he wanted to see how everything was and if we'd kissed each other yet"
"I guess Jin really has convinced him about the whole secret love thing." Ueda chuckled slowly shaking his head.
"Yeah, so who called you? Kame?" Ryo asked while he let sand strain through his fingers.
"Yeah, he wanted to know when we're back in Tokyo" Ueda said. "So maybe we should go and look up when the bus back departs."
"We probably should." Ryo said letting his back fall back onto the sand. "But right now I just wanna lie here enjoying the sun."
Ueda smiled falling back to the sand too, closing his eyes and letting all the thoughts about going back to the city fly away into the sky.

They enjoyed the silence for a while until Ryo got bored. "Wanna play a game?" He asked still lying down on his back with closed eyes.
"What kind of game?" Ueda asked suspicious, opening his eyes slowly and turning his head towards Ryo.
"A game to get to know each other." Ryo answered turning his head meeting Ueda's eyes.
"Uh, sure." Ueda answered still a bit suspicious.
"No need to worry. We'll just simply ask each other questions and we have to answer them truthfully, okay? I'll start: What's your favorite ice cream?"
"Uh, chocolate I think." Ueda answered relieved over getting asked sucha easy question.
"Boring, well your turn." Ryo said letting his face meet the sky again.
"Uh, how do you drink your coffee?" Ueda asked in lack of a better one.
"Black. My turn, what's your favorite season?"
"Winter. What's your favorite color?"
"Black and pink. Are you still obsessed with Gackt?"
"No, but I still love his music. When did you learn how to play the guitar?"
"When I was around 10 I think. When did you get your first kiss? And by who?"
"Hey, that's too personal" Ueda said opening his eyes before he sat up. "And that is two questions as well"
"Well there are no rules in this game, except from that I can ask you whatever I want" Ryo grinned sitting up as well. "So answer."
"Okay, I was 16. When did you get your first kiss?"
"When I was 15 too, and it was by this really cute girl in my school with rather big breast for her age." Ryo said grinning at the memory. "Too bad it was only because of a game of truth and dare. So who did you kiss?"
"Uh… it's too personal, and it's really no need for you to know." Ueda said trying to get away from the subject, not that he was really ashamed over it, but it was still too personal for Ryo to know.
"Come on, it wasn't a guy you kissed, right?" Ryo smirked but the smirk soon was replaced by a look of surprise as he saw how Ueda's face was showing signs that he was uncomfortable. "It was a guy? I had no idea you swing that way."
"I don't swing that way, I swing both ways" Ueda said a bit uncomfortable looking down on the sand between his feet. "And I might as well tell you now that it was a friend of mine. We both were curious about what a kiss would feel like."
"Uh, so you've kissed both girls and boys then?" Ryo asked curious.
"Obviously" Ueda said looking up at Ryo, not feeling as uncomfortable anymore.
"So what do you prefer?" Ryo asked now genially curious.
"Huh?" Ueda said confused, not quite understanding the question.
"What do you prefer? Boys or girls kisses?" Ryo developed his question.
"I haven't really thought about it that much…" Ueda pondered, a bit bewildered over the question. "But I think that maybe I like getting kissed by guys a bit better, but it all depends on the person I guess. Why'd you ask?"
"Just out of curiosity, since I never kissed a guy. Jin used to try to kissing me when we were younger for a laugh but I never let him. " Ryo explained with an awkward chuckle and then changed the subject. "So, maybe we should go and see when the next bus back to Tokyo is departing?"
