Andrew and I had a lovely dinner last night at chez
minnehaha along with
lakeboy_55. It was a spontaneous but welcome visit, and we had a wonderful time chatting about a crazy variety of topics ranging from wines, origins and ilks of religious orthodoxy, and an ontogenarian cruiseship ballroom casanova met on a plane. Dinner itself was a fantastic cassoulet of duck and andouille with a salad, with a little mango and vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was especially nice since we've been a little more busy and stressed than usual in the past month, and it was exceedingly nice to just sit and be with friends.
I'm also reminded that I should like to make time to experiment with a couple recipes and return the favor of hosting. But first I might try pasties again - I've had two recent reports from family of making them, and now I have a hankering.
