Thanks and all the fish

I haven't updated recently about the books for the Middle School, so here's what's going on: response was wonderful! Of the books that were sent via my address or my parents', I estimate we gathered more than 350 books. I had a look at them all, and people chose wonderful books! That number isn't counting the books that were sent directly from ( Read more... )

Oh, yay! I'm glad. :)

And the fishies are so cute. Well, I couldn't find any but one (the pinto one, though!) when I looked yesterday, but they're pretty good at hiding, so I'm not worried yet.

I'm so glad we were able to give a bit of help.

The fish look in fine, um, scale. I'm glad they've been able to survive.

Me too. :) I'm hoping the maintenance department is more aware of them now and will actually try to preserve them - it looks like they've cleaned the pool recently, and the fish are still there, so I'm taking it as a good sign.

That's good to hear. And now I have "Three Little Fishies" stuck in my head.

Since I couldn't participate in the first book go-round, please be sure to let us know if there is anything else the school needs for next year. (books? pencils? maps? art supplies?) I think you are so great for having organized this all.

And love the fat, happy fish pictures!

I will be sure to let you know! I plan to communicate with Mrs. M toward the end of the summer once they have a better idea of the space they'll be using. Thank you!

Are you still collecting books? I completely forgot in the end-of-year rush, but I snagged about a dozen from the Scholastic Book Fair at school a week or two ago so I could forward them on to you. (They were having a buy-one-get-one... I mean, what could I do?)

What she said. I'll have to scroll through your library-related posts to find the Amazon list. Would we have to wait until fall to send more books?

I can email you the link to the Amazon list, but now that you mention it, I should take the mailing address off of it, because from what I understand, now that the previous school year is over, the sixth grade is currently homeless until they move, and I don't know where their new office will be. You could send them to me - I don't mind storing them over the summer until the teachers start unpacking their books in August.

Ha, I know! I'm that way at library book sales.

You can send them to me if you want! I think that would be less complicated than the teachers having to shrinkwrap and store them over the summer, and I can give them another batch in August when they have a place to unpack in.
