I love driving past weird things like that (the row of vw beetles you mentioned) they're so random and nonsensical, it's great.

It's been so interesting reading about your trip! It made me remember places like Montezuma Castle National Monument that my family visited when we lived in Arizona. Although I've never been to the Grand Canyon (despite having lived in Arizona for a total of eight years, I know, I'm so lame), I remember flying over it many times when travelling into and out of the state. It really is huge! The scope of it just boggles, and it made me appreciate this poor, abused rock on which we all live.

Montezuma Castle Ntl Monument was so neat, and an unexpected stop, so I was glad to get to see it. The Grand Canyon is really cool from the air, too!

I was thinking about you a lot in Arizona, wondering if you had been in some of the same places I was visiting. :)
