The first two pictures are unexpected... I never noticed shapes like that on oaks. Neat.

It's amazing, the variety of shapes there are among oak leaves. Plus, some of them look a little funny as infants. :)

Oh, most baby oak leaves don't look like that. There are so many kinds of oaks, and they have so many leaf shapes! And some of them are shiny green when they're "born." (this page) has only seven varieties of oaks on it, and you can see how different they look!)
