Weather, but also good things

As I feared, unlike yesterday, today we did have black ice and we did have school. ::pouts:: So I'm in class rather than spending the morning wrapped in blankets finishing Watchmen, but I also managed not to get stuck in a ditch somewhere, so that's good. Love the brain - who wudda thought to do that?! The detail is awesome.

I totally agree that in the last few years Bush's speech style became very defensive. I like your teenager description it's very accurate. I also noticed that for the first few years he would often self-correct if he made a really horrible pronouciation mistake but in the last three or so he just couldn't be bothered. I'll be curious to see if Obama's speech style will change. Will he become more relaxed and less of an orator? It will be interesting.

I know! Though on the other hand, I've noticed - being involved in fandom crafting especially - that whatever creative people are interested in, they will find a way to combine their skills and their interests. Thus you get amazing Doctor Who themed knitted lace, or double helix scarves, or whatever. It's so cool. :)

Defensive - yes, exactly. I really did feel like it changed over time, not just with my noticing. It's interesting to watch, whoever it is!

I *heart* the knitted brain! So representative of the metaphors we use, plus, it's awesome. I love that it was a psychiatrist who did it - go us! (I'm including me in there because I'm almost there!) Oh, and I love that she put in a zipper. :)

Ooh, I want my cadences analyzed!

Thank you, Hillary Duff! Well said.

Indeed! (I'm so excited for you!) And you can knit - who knows what you might find yourself making one day? Eej mentioned the zipper, too - it's terribly clever.

If you ever make the acquaintance of a linguist, they'd probably do it for you for fun. :)

I was glad to see the ad, it made me happy.
