Moon, green tomato, trees

Happy Falling Leaves Moon tonight!

My upside-down tomato plant has a fruit on it now. It makes me a little sad, because I hoped so much for this plant, and after hardships it has finally managed to set a fruit, but the tomato will never have a chance to mature. It's too late, not enough sun, too cool now. But I like that it's still trying.

I like the idea of the life after instead of the afterlife, if that makes sense

It makes sense to me, but since there might be as many ways of interpreting that idea as there are people, I don't know if you're agreeing with me (or Garrison Keillor's character) or proposing a philosophy of your own. :) It's all good, though. I like the idea of life going on, whether it's "me" specifically or not.

kind of both I guess- nature's nature. the dead decompose to give nutrients for the living, it's the cycle of life and should be continued

I love the decomposition process so much, and I say that with no irony. It's just beautiful. Cycle of life, yes. That's how I see myself contributing to life going on. :)

It is! It's like those dudes at the Alamo or in 300. Heh.

Oh, that monologue reminds me of The Fountain, and is beautifully expressed. Thank you for sharing it!

Now to add "pine box" to my list of things to save for. I really will use it as a coffee table until I need it

Just as Clarissa did in Clarissa. Heh.

You're welcome! Should I watch The Fountain? If I can muster the emotional fortitude?

Man. My literary education (...in my English major) has a lot of holes. I had to look up Clarissa because the only Clarissa I knew was Melissa Joan Hart's character in the Nickelodeon(?) show Clarissa Explains It All. ::facepalm::

Casket Furniture: "Why Buy a Casket for Just One Day?" I am so on board with that idea! Being anti-waste and all that. :)

The Fountain is very much a wrenching film - but it is beautiful. I highly recommend it! Though, perhaps, not if you're already having a bad day. It stays with you for a long time, but it's worth it, in spite of how draining it can be.

Hee - I just remember reading and seeing Clarissa, when she was composing her letters on top of her already-bought coffin. The image stuck with me, clearly.

I love the entertainment centre casket. Practical and more practical.

It sounded like that kind of film, which is probably why I haven't seen it yet. These days, it seems like I reserve most of my emotional energy for my TV shows, and if I watch a movie it's more for escapism. I know I'm missing a lot of very good movies that way, though. I'll probably go through a movie phase again one of these days. I'll have to add The Fountain to my Netflix queue.

After the casket is removed the remaining two sides slide together and can be used for years to come.

::loves:: No sense scrapping a perfectly good set of shelves just because you have to bury its owner!
