Adventures with the dogs

I took the dogs for a walk today, shut them back in the yard, then took off down the dirt road again, just me and my camera this time. I'd seen some things like this and I wanted pictures.

That little guy was pretty cute. Typically for dogs around here, he was on the thin side and probably fleabitten, but he did have a collar, so somebody wants him!

Thank you! I was amazed anything was visible at all - in addition to the fast movement, I was focusing manually. I wish her head were a little more clear, but if you know what you're looking for, you can sort of see that it's a deer!

Aw, of course! Though I did wait until the mud dried to pet anywhere on the underside of her body. :)

Silly chasing dogs! I'm so glad that Dad's dog is too old and deaf to chase any of the deer that come into his yard (she rarely even knows they are there and if she does notice, she doesn't think they are worth the effort.)

The close-up of the ant is very cool. He looks so industrious.

Heh, my dad said of Gitta when she was all sore and tired, "If she had a memory, she'd know better than to do that again."

I don't know if the ant was collecting pollen or he just accidentally dragged his feet through it, but I was surprised. :)

WOW! Amazing shots! The pollen on the ant's feet is amazing and the action shots are lovely! Seeing deer is always a treat.
