Downtown Holiday Walk

Dec 15, 2019 14:07

On Friday, I met my dad and brother downtown so that we could take in some of the holiday sights. After having a very nice lunch at Harvey’s, we went out in search of some holiday cheer (e.g. cool Christmasy type stuff). ( It gets better. There are fewer words and more pics. )

I'm writing this comment at work because my laptop isn't working. It simply won't boot up. It's rather awkward because people keep coming past my desk and I don't want them to see me looking at personal stuff - particularly bright, sparkly pictures! I'm sitting in another department in the library for a few months while my department is renovated. One has a lot less privacy here.

Anyway, thank you, rusty_armour, for the "cool Christmasy type stuff!" I've enjoyed looking at them over again. The Eaton Centre tree is so bright and pretty, the holiday windows remarkable, the silver trees are lovely and I find it hard to believe that the gingerbread house is really made of gingerbread! I like the Old City Hall still looking good amongst the modern buildings. As for the conjoined Christmas trees, I agree "because logic is really overrated!"

Yikes! I'm really sorry about your laptop. If the problem doesn't remedy itself, I hope you'll be able to get your laptop fixed without too much trouble. It was sweet of you to to risk those bright, sparkly pictures with your co-workers walking past. *g*

Well, thank you, karen9! I'm happy that you enjoyed looking at all of the "cool Christmasy type stuff"! :-D

Scadding House and the Church of the Holy Trinity are lovely buildings. I'm glad they haven't been demolished, but rather taken care of.

I'm glad you like Scadding House and the Church of the Holy Trinity. They're both very interesting buildings. :-) I think they must be protected by some kind of heritage trust. I know they both have plaques, so I'm guessing they have some kind of historical designation.
