regarding storylines, i think you should do what you like best and keeps you interested. with storylines there are tons of places you could go with it i suppose. :)
Plato is a great name, it does sorta sound like Pluto and it's rather confusing when I want to say Plato and Pluto. I decided that he should do a job that connects with his ltw.

Awwww the kids are so adorable I wish I could cuddle them :). Haha don't you just love childish sims, playing with their kids toys instead of playing with the kids? :D But Samuel is really good daddy :). And Hypatia makes great firefighter, I love how even her uniform matches her hair it's like she was born for it. And awww you used Molly :). Also I wish I could give you advice for the game crashing thing, but I don't know :(
