Oh, last week was not great. I did participate in Global Running Day but I was sore from my strength training workout earlier in the day, so struggled walking most of the 5k I did at our run club's meetup. Those were the only intentional miles I got all week. I was in a bad place with my anxiety all week. I had a 5k race on Saturday I was registered for, however I got 3 minutes away from where we were supposed to park and turned around and went home because my anxiety was so bad. I was going to go in my neighborhood and do it unofficially later, but I just didn't. Thankfully the fog has lifted on that bad episode, but I also have gotten no intentional miles this week. Going this long with not even a walk outside and just doing strength training and a cardio workout here and there, my legs are feeling it and my hips and quads are super tight. So I just need to find the motivation to get back out there.
I think it's great that we have Global Running Day now. It started in 2009 or so. But this year I totally missed it. I mean I just did my usual run and didn't even realize it was a Global Running Day, until I read about it next day.
Skipping a race if you do not feel like racing is absolutely correct decision. And if you do not feel like running I would not force it either. I think running is best when you are enjoying it. So I would just skip a few days, get some rest and wait for that feeling when I am itching to for a run, that's the best.
