I had a chance to meet Greg Rucka recently and have him sign his novelization of NML for me - he is a very nice guy, very down to earth, absolutely lovely to talk to. While I had a chance to chat with him, I came to talking about how well he depicts the friendship of Batman and Gordon, and how lovely the scene was where Batman was offering, as the only thing he HAD to offer, to disclose his identity. Rucka laughed at that, thanked me and stated how he is certain Jim knows by that time and just lets Bruce think he's got everyone fooled - and he also said that it is always a great pleasure when he can delve deeply into the deep and loyal friendship because to him, it is one of the defining points of both characters.
