HBP: A History

Since some people are still wondering why I don't wish to participate in HP fandom anymore, here's a summary.

Why HP isn't worth it anymore. )

I love your rundown, that's pretty much my opinion too.

On another note, I see you said you would still be doing art, H/hr stuff still? Pretty please? :) Or just in your other fandoms?

I think the first five books will be the series for me.

As I said, I don't want to waste any more time promoting what were essentially JKR's lies. The woman doesn't deserve the effort.

I'm moving on to art from different fandoms, because despite my apparent H/Hr focus these last few weeks, I've actually done loads more art in other fandoms--unposted, of course.

JKR was under Imperius! That's the only explaination. Either that, or someone put a dose of liquid stupid in her pumpking juice. Anyway, How many couples stay with their first crush? Let's just call Hermione's apparentlyloss of intellegence on a surge of hormones. That would explain a lot. As for Ginny-sue... ... ... ... ... well, she is described as pretty. (Hormones, Hormones! H-O-R-M-O-N-E-S!

Having just discovered your work, I'm sad to see that you're disembarking from the JKR Cruise of the H.M.S. Harmony, though I fully understand your reasons.

I spend a lot of time reading fanfics and discussions on Portkey, and I agree with the concensus that JKR just doesn't know how to write characters all that well, at least not on a conscious level. Subconsciously may be another matter; how else did all those Harmony moments creep into her work if there wasn't something at work?

Whatever the reason for the abrupt course change in Book Six, the first five books did give us the foundation for an archetype couple the equal of any in classic literature, and while JKR may have fumbled the ball, there's no reason fan authors can't pick it up and run with it. Certainly some of the stories I've read online equal or surpass JKR's work. So, good luck with your school and your other artistic endeavors, and please, come back and visit once in a while!
