Lyssa cinched the mouth of her pack around the mound of baby clothes and blankets that threatened to spill from within. She snorted. Somewhere along the way, traveling light had come to mean just bring whatever the kid needed.
“We’re all set, Ski.”
No answer.
“Ski?”
She turned to find her sister where she’d left her, curled up on the bed, the covers neatly tucked in place beneath. One arm hooked around the slumbering baby pinned snugly against her chest while her own form slowly heaved with quiet, contented snores.
Lyssa sighed. “Guess we’ll go when you’re ready then, huh?”
