Like feline_muse, it's weird to me how he treats her like a little kid … Is he much older than her? Are they lovers or siblings or friends? I'm definitely curious to find out more about both of them and your 'verse in general.

One suggestion: change "Indian-style" to "cross-legged."

They're the same age. Being a pixie, the main character is tiny, and myself being only 5 foot, I know first hand how a lot of the time height affects the way other people treat you. Thank you all for the input, because I don't want it to come across as creepy. I'm mostly taking cues from both my guy friends and past boyfriends that I think felt they had to be extra gentle with me, in all regards, being as I'm so much smaller than them. They definitely treated me differently than other girls in our group of friends that were their height or taller, so I don't want to eliminate the distinction, but I definitely don't want it to come across as perverse in any way!
