I liked how the vampire's feeding wasn't painless. I think it's painless too often, or over-romanticized, so this is good. Kamali seems to have been cast out of the frying pan and into the fire...

Somehow I get the feeling Kamali didn't think his adventure through as well as he should have before setting out. Wonder what his 'rescuer' intends to do with him. Nicely written :)
