omgggg, must have epidural. I slept through most of it thanks to one! Also, this rings very true for the new parent of a newborn...the first couple of weeks/months are hard. But they are worth it.

This line especially was great: In that moment she loved her daughter so fiercely she could hardly breathe.

Epidural is friend. And yeah, I figured being a parent is really, really effing scary, but definitely worth it. Thank you!

Thanks so much! Description's my weak spot, so I'm glad I did good things with it this time around.

Awwwwww newbown!Ivy so cuuuuuute <3

I love the way you portrayed Gail's uncertainty and love here, how you showed that the two aren't mutually exclusive. She's not going to be perfect at being a mom, but she'll do the best she can and Ivy's going to turn out wonderfully :D

It's the only time she's not actively trying to set things on fire!

I figured that for Gail especially, this was going to be one of the most terrifying things she'd ever done, and it's terrifying because she loves her daughter so much. But she will do a fantastic job.

Thank you.

Awww, baby Ivy is sweet...I love how you depict Gail's feelings in this piece - that mix of love and not a little fear, that she might do something wrong, screw it up somehow. It's very realistic and heartwarming at the same time.
Nice job!

Thank you very much! I figured fear and uncertainty would not be out of character nor strange, and they're not bad things, really, so long as she recognizes and understands them. Thank you.
