Summary: 15-year-old Valentio's first encounter with Cygnelius isn't really notable. Unless you're Valentio, of course.
When Valentio first spots Cygnelius, he assumes the kid is another "misplaced" prince until he recalls there's a boy genius working at the lab. Cygnelius Corvo, he's heard, is small and young and low-born. Valentio wonders if anyone has told him yet. Judging by his prideful standoffishness, probably not. It probably isn't even wise to tell him the time.
Naturally, Valentio had to tease him.
"Going my way?" Valentio says, smiling, preparing a barb.
"You're clearly confused. I'm not going to the psych ward," Cyg deadpans.
Valentio later decided that was when he first wanted to be Cygnelius's friend.
