Corvo is Cyprian's last name from BFTS, and it means "heart" in Italian, referring to both his warm, personable nature (or, you know, his lack thereof) and his girly pink hair (most non-anatomically correct hearts I've seen are colored in pink). I didn't even think of what it might almost mean in the Latin. Cyprian is (so, so distantly) related to Cygnelius. Or at least, he was in the planning stages of LG.

But Cygnelius is intentionally derived from "cygne," the French word for swan, so you got it half right.

I like your version better, though. Swan crow. Keeps the references all in the same family.

I hope so, too - Valentio is making a nuisance of himself by varying greatly from the original mold I had him in, and Cyg...is Cyg, actually, which presents its own set of issues.
