It's too much bullshit on either side for me.

Which is why I was too angry to really put into words how I feel about this new knee jerk overreaction by some people.

What the fuck, over? Seriously? We can't have our children listen to the president of the US? What happened to even if you disagree with him, listen to what he has to say and then think of a response?

Yanking kids out of school for this makes me want to smack the stupid out of people. Why not have an honest debate with your kids?

"Yanking kids out of school for this makes me want to smack the stupid out of people."

Not only is it stupid, it is lazy parenting and teaching the child a poor message. "Things aren't going your way? Why stick it out? Why think it through? Just take the easy road and walk away! You'll get everything you want in life by walking away and giving up! Better yet, throw a hissy fit and pout!"

Ah, the future of America.

College students in my school are already like this. I am loath to see what happens in another 10-15 years.

If this guy ,the majority has elected, needs to say something to the youth it needs to be said out in the open addressed to everyone on an open forum. is shutting down the major T.V. stations so the president can speak impossible now? This "broadcast specifically to every school to target the youth" crap stinks of under handed intentions. I don't trust the situation. If I had children I would keep them from being exposed to this. Everyone is trying to treat kids like they are adults. Guess what, they are kids! The reason they can't vote is that children are extremely impressionable and easily manipulated by trends and popularity. No matter what the President says ,if the still learning and impressionable youth don't have their parents right there with them, they will in the end agree with their buddies. Then it's too late because the parents voice ,if different from their friends, is wrong. Yes this is a stereotypical example but stereotypes are that way for a reason!

a point. the phrase "Under God" is *NOT* part of the original pledge, it was added to counter "communist sentiment", and is *directly unConstitutiona;*, and REALLY DOES need to be removed from the Pledge. which is what most of those of us on the Left want - we want the Pledge returned to it's original, non-deity inclusive form ( ... )
