Shame

Oct 02, 2008 22:50

I have never been more ashamed to be a woman and a mother than I am after watching Sara Palin speak.  Any more cutesy winks at the camera or folksy annecdotes and I would have needed an insulin shot.

She couldn't answer a single question and winked in the camera...twice!

Also, I gained a lot of respect for Joe Biden.

Palin is the evangelical vagina of the right. *nod* She knows how to work that camera, and McCain was smart for picking her, he's banking on most women not being able to think before they cast their votes, he's banking on people voting for his ticket because she's a woman.

Sad thing is, he's probably right (though I hope not).

It sure will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

With you there. Also disappointed with the lack of moderation. Was there a point to having a moderator at all?

As to being a woman and a mother - Sarah Palin does not represent you. Her failings are not reflective on either grouping.

I was extremely insulted when she refered to the voters as "Joe Six-Pack" and the "Hockey Moms".

Not all of us are beer-swilling rednecks, and while I realize in Alaska probably everyone's kids play hockey, here in my school district in semi-suburban PA, putting your kid in hockey will cost you $1000+ a season, so our Hockey Moms are a bit more likely to be wearing Lands End and Eddie Bauer, and driving their Lexus SUV's to practice.

She seems to be only concerned with playing to that good old red-state base, and doesn't seem to give a damn that people with many different viewpoints and values and definitions of "middle class" seem to live in this country.

Also, if she said "heckuva" and "darn it" one more time, I was going to hurl at the TV. I felt like I was watching Fargo, except it wasn't funny.

Sometimes winks aren't really winks, they're ticks.
