It has been a very profound week. It has also been a wonderful time to watch my son become politically aware. His class did a mock election. When they revealed the results, Obama had scored all the votes of the students except one. My son cast his vote for McCain. His teacher asked him why. I have never been more ashamed to be a woman and a mother than I am after watching Sara Palin speak.  Any more cutesy winks at the camera or folksy annecdotes and I would have needed an insulin shot.

She couldn't answer a single question and winked in the camera...twice!

Also, I gained a lot of respect for Joe Biden.
