Chance to Change
A/N: hmm... was suddenly stumped on this one. besides the fact that the internet connection is going ballistic the past weeks, I also have a lot on my mind and can't use it to daydream on this story... i want to thank my oniichan for all the ideas he suggested. ^_._^ tasukatta! he really helped. Well, here goes... Hope it's not so bad.

Recap: Eri was just delivering something when she was offered to act by the director along side Chinen Yuuri. They're currently working on a CM. Will a newbie pull it through?

Chapter 3 Be My Star
Eri sat on the swing with a pout as she thought about the fight she just had with her oniichan. She looked about on the deserted park and reminisced back when they used to play here. As her anger slowly subsiding, guilt took its place.
"I was also at fault." She admitted softly and sighed looking at the ground.
"We're both at fault." a voice startled her. She looked up and found a chocolate ice cream cone in front of her. Her eyes drifted to the one who was holding it.
"OniiChi..." she uttered, surprised.
He smiled, "Here." Chinen offered the ice cream again.
"Arigatou." she reluctantly accepted, she feels guiltier now. She sniffed off the tears that was starting to well up.
"Yosh." he ruffled her hair and sat on the swing beside her, holding his own ice cream. She watched him eat before he turned to her and gave her an aren't-you-gonna-eat-that look. She shifted her gaze back to the treat in her hand and tried some. Her eyes widened upon tasting it. It was the same taste of their favorite chocolate bar. Memories when they used to play in the same park and how they would have ice cream or that chocolate afterwards, basically the only two favorites they have in common, now that they're not kids anymore.
"Gomen." they said to each other at the same time then laughed the awkwardness away, just like how they used to.
"And...CUT!" the director yelled, "Good work you two." He walked towards them smiling before he added, "And that's a wrap."
"Arigatou guzaimasu."Chinen and Eri bowed gratefully. Other staffs also greeted them. The director went to talk with a staff after. Eri sighed relief.
"Otsukare sama." Chinen turned to her. "Youko ganbatta na." he smiled.
"Arigatou! otsukare sama deshita!" Eri bowed. She looked at the ice cream on their hands, it was starting to melt.
"Oh, you two can eat those ice cream." a passing female staff told them.
"Itadakimasu." They both replied gratefully. Chinen smiled at Eri's obvious delight as she ate the treat. The both of them started walking towards the dressing rooms.
"Ano, you're coming to the party later right?" He turned to her.
"Party?" she stopped in her tracks.
"Yeah, to celebrate the finishing of this project." he replied also pausing.
"Oh." She resumed walking.
"So will you come?" he repeated walking beside her.
"I will have to call Okaasan for permission." she replied thoughtfully. They have now arrived in front of her dressing room.
"Oh, okay. See you later then." he turned towards his dressing room.
"Okay..."

"Moshi, moshi. Okaasan, Eri desu. ano..."

When Eri stepped out of her dressing room, wearing her own clothes, Chinen was already waiting for her.
The look he gave her seemed to be anticipating her answer to whether she would be attending or not. She tried to keep her amusement and formed an "O" with her arms over her head.

At the party...
"Omedatou!" Everyone greeted her. Eri stared at the cake in front of her.
"Arigatou." her eyes wandered around, "but what's this about?" she searched the smiling faces for answers.
"It's also a late birthday celebration and a late welcome party for you." It was Tanaka-san who spoke.
"Oh." Eri turned to Chinen.
"Gomen. They said it has to be a surprise. I was actually worried you wouldn't come." he explained hastily.
Eri laughed and shook her head, "Thanks. It's a birthday, I will always remember." she looked around, "Minna, hontou ni arigatou guzaimasu." she bowed. "Although it was short, I had a great time working with you all." she added, getting teary-eyed. She bent her head to hide it.
"Now, now. We're here to celebrate!" Tanaka-san patted her head.
"Sou yo. Waratte ne." Chinen chimed in bending over so he could see her face.
She raised her head slightly and saw him smiling.
"Hai." she can't help but smile as well. The director arrived and the party continued.

Two weeks have passed since their CM project ended. Eri has resumed her normal life except for the bit of popularity she gained from people who recognized her from the commercial which seemed to have been quite a hit, as Tanaka-san called it. Things we're quite the same at school too, the fuss ended after a week. It was about the same for Rina back when she just started modeling for a teen magazine.
That particular morning, however, was like a deja vu for Eri. When she went down for breakfast, Yukimura-san was waiting for her. Offering her to act,but this time, in a drama series.

A/N: hmmm... i thought it would be longer. It looked longer on paper, teehee, maa ii... i wrote it on paper while we're having our lecture... can't help it if inspiration strikes...^_._^ right? hmmm... i wanted to leave it hanging for the next chap, I wonder if this is hanging enough... i know there are a lot of errors, pardon me, it's self-beta'd..
