Chapter 1  Watch out!

“Ittekimasu”. Eri said as she mounted her bike.
“Itterashai.” Her mother waved her hand and watched Eri took off.
It was a lovely morning. The morning breeze was just right. She enjoyed watching the town slowly coming alive with the buzz of people starting their day as she pedaled through town. She’s been helping her mom with their gift shop and today, she’s off to deliver a special parcel before going to school. She smiled while looking at the parcel in her basket and wondered who the lucky receiver could be, when,
-screeched!-
She clutched the brakes tightly trying to avoid running over a guy who appeared suddenly from a corner to her right directly across her path. She had tried ringing her bell but the guy hasn’t noticed. Dreading that the brakes might not make it, she swerved to her left just in time, the guy finally noticed and jump back towards the direction he came from.
When Eri finally came to a halt, just before hitting a post, her eyes immediately found the parcel in her basket.
“Yokatta.” She sighed seeing that it was unharmed. Her mom had been working on that all week for a special request.
“Woah, abunai.” The guy took his earphones from his ears as he stood, checking himself for any injury.
Eri turned her attention back to him.
“Gomen nasai! I was not paying attention.” she got off her bike and bowed. “Daijoubu?”
“Nanto naku.(somehow)” He replied.
She cocked her head to the side thinking how he seems to look familiar.
He pulled his cap closer to his eyes.
“Anata wa?” he asked.
“Heki desu.” She smiled, but then a familiar sound echoed through.
“Shimatta.” She gasped checking her watch after realizing it was their school bell.
“Shitsure shimasu. Isogishimasu.” She added hastily, redirecting her bike back to the road. She bowed again before pedaling off. I guess it’ll have to wait ‘til lunch break.
He watched her figure disappear on the next corner.

“Eri-chan? Doko iku no?” someone called out while Eri was unchained her bike during lunch break. She turned but found no one.
“Kochi kochi.” The voice said.
Eri looked up and found Ayuzawa Rina, her classmate and cousin, waving her hand from their classroom window on the second floor.
“Rina-chan,” Eri waved back, “I have to deliver this parcel for okaachan. I was not able to this morning. I’ll tell you about it later.”
“What about lunch?” Rina asked concerned knowing Eri can push herself too much at times.
“Daijoubu. I won’t take long.” Eri assured her and turned back to her bike.
“Matte! Here!” Rina tossed something. Eri caught it in time.
“Arigatou!” Eri laughed and waved the bread in her hand.
“Itterashai.” Rina smiled back.
“Itteki.” Eri replied, unwrapping the bread and putting it on her mouth, letting it dangle for a while as she mounted her bike.
Rina laughed as she watched her cousin riding with one hand on the handle while holding the bread with the other.

It was a 10 minute ride before she finally found the right address. It was some sort of studio. After telling the security guard her purpose and showing the paper signed by the customer, he finally let her in.
People were wandering here and there, absorbed in their own tasks and doing various things. Eri can’t help but be fascinated as she observed them.
“Ano, may I help you?” a voice brought her back. She winced and turned towards the voice.
It belonged to the guy she almost bumped into that morning. He was just as surprised as she was when they came face to face.
“Anata!” the uttered in synch.
“Ano, Hontou ni sumimasen deshita.” She apologized again.
“Ie, it was partly my fault, I didn’t check before crossing dakara ore mo gomen ne.” he said.
“Truce?” he offered his hand. “I’m Chinen by the way, Yuuri Chinen.”
“Hai, ano, Eri desu, Yazaki Eri.” She shook his hand finally recognizing why he looked familiar. She’s seen him on t.v a number of times.
“Yazaki-san, hajimemashite.” He smiled.
“Kochira koso.” She smiled back noticing his cute smile.
“What brought you here?” he asked.
“uh! Hai, could you tell me where I could find Tanaka-san?” she inquired.
“Tanaka-san? Ah, chotto matte.” He craned hi neck as he searched around, after a while, he gave up and asked someone who passed by.
“Iku, she said Tanaka-san is somewhere over there by the camera.” He said leading her through.
“Uh! Atta!” he exclaimed walking faster towards a middle aged man tinkering with a camera.
“ano, sumimasen.” Chinen asked as they approached him.
“Hai? Doushita?” Tanaka-san asked before looking up, “Chinen-kun, Uh Eri-chan. You’re here.” He exclaimed putting her camera down.
“Konnichiwa! hai, I came to deliver the gift you requested from Okaachan.” Eri gave him the parcel.
“Arigatou! And thank your mom for me. Ayako will be surprised especially since her best friend was the one who made it.” Tanaka-san said.
“Dou itashimashite. Okaachan also included her own gift there. She was really enthusiastic while making it.” Eri replied.
“I’m sorry for having to ask you to deliver it all the way here. I can’t let my wife found out about this surprise and with the way things are right now, looks like we’ll end up working late today. Nee, Chinen-kun.” Tanaka-san sighed turning to Chinen.
“Hai, sou desu ne.” Chinen seemed to feel down as well.
“Doushita no?” Eri inquired shifting her gaze from Chinen to Tanaka-san.
“It’s the director, he just sent an actress crying off the set. So now everything is halted.” Chinen explained.
“He’s just too picky. It’s just a commercial.” Tanaka-san scowled. Chinen and Eri laughed at his reaction.
“You there! Why are you slacking?” An angry voice echoed through. Everyone froze including Eri.
“Yabbai.” Tanaka-san gasped. He was standing opposite the two and was looking past behind them. Chinen and Eri turned following his gaze and saw a rather stout man somewhere in his forties coming towards them with brows furrowed deep.
“He’s been like that all day.” Chinen whispered at the corner of his mouth.
“You!” the man yelled pointing at them. Chinen stiffened.
“Director! We---“ Tanaka-san started as Chinen pulled Eri behind him. The director noticed and followed her intently with his gaze.
“Chotto.” The director raised his hand and moved Chinen aside with the other hand, revealing Eri who immediately looked down.
I shouldn’t have stayed this long. Dou suru? Eri thought frantically.
“Anata…” the director said again which forced Eri to look up. She was surprised and puzzled by the director’s reaction.
“She’s just delivering something for Tanaka-san.” Chinen interrupted going back to Eri’s side.
The director looked from Chinen to Eri then back again.
“The two of you…”the director said slowly keeping his gaze between the two.
“Hai?” they asked in synch looking quizzically at him.
“Are you two related?” the director asked.
“Eh? No, we’re not.” Eri felt herself blushing. Related in what way?
“What made you ask that?” Chinen inquired.
“You look alike.” The director answered matter-of-factly.
“Hmm, now that you mentioned it, they do.” Tanaka-san agreed. By now the other staffs had already stopped working and just stood, staring at them. Some of them nodded their agreement.
“Oh yeah, do you two know each other? You were together when you came to me.” Tanaka-san remarked.
“We just bumped into each other this morning. We weren’t able to get acquainted ‘til a while ago.” Chinen explained.
“Right, he just helped me find Tanaka-san so I could deliver a parcel to him.” Eri added.
“Enough with that!” the director exclaimed. “I found the actress that would suit the role best.”
He declared triumphantly. Everyone turned towards Eri.
“Eh? Watashi?” Eri stuttered looking behind her and found no one. “It can’t be.” Dareka tasukete kure!
In answer to her prayer, her phone suddenly rang. She was so nervous that the vibration made her jump before she realized it was a call. She immediately excused herself to answer it.
“Moshi moshi. Hai.” Eri said over the phone. “Eh?! Arigatou!” she hung up after checking her watch.
“Ano, sumimasen but I have to go back to school. I didn’t notice the time. Otsukare sama!” she bowed and practically ran out of the studio before anyone could react.

“Matte!” was the only word Chinen was able to utter.
“I want that girl.” The director told the producer.
“But Sir, she clearly does not have any acting experience.” The producer replied.
“She can be thought. I want no other.” The director stood firm.
“How am I supposed to find her?” the producer asked.
“You’ve seen her uniform! Find it out. You can even ask them.” The director pointed to both Chinen and Tanaka-san.
"Oh boy..." Tanaka-san sighed.
Chinen was looking at the direction Eri disappeared to. He thought about the uniform she was wearing. It was Eitoku's uniform, right?

“Eri-chan, Daijoubu?” Rina asked Eri as she found her seat, gasping for breath. Eri motioned for Rina to give her some time to breathe.
“I’ve never ran nor drive my bike that fast.” She said after a while. “Hontou ni arigatou Rina-chan! You really saved me there!” she took Rina’s hands gratefully.
“Umm, You’re welcome but calling you to tell you you’re gonna be late for class isn’t something you have to be so grateful for.” Rina laughed. “And from what did I save you from?”
At that moment their teacher came.
“I’ll tell you about it later.” Eri said as everyone settled down.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Eh? You met Chinen-kun?" Rina exclaimed. Eri's hand quickly covered Rina's mouth.
"Shh... Too loud." Eri scolded looking around the room. It was after class and as promised Rina asked her right away what happened so Eri had no choice.  She made sure no one was there and that was the perfect time. Rina and Eri are class representatives and had to stay behind to write their daily class record.
"Gomen." Rina placed her fingers own her lips after Eri released her."but why did you need to be saved from him?" she continued.
"It's not him. It's the director. He said something about finding the actress he was looking for and how Yuuri-san and I had a resemblance...I know it's weird." Eri said noticing Rina's reaction on that last remark.
"No, I think you do have a resemblance with him." Rina examined Eri's features.
"Oh, not you too!" Eri cried out.
"Oh You do!" Rina insisted. "and so what happened next?" she urged Eri to continue.
Eri sighed, "Well...he said he wanted me to replace the actress for the CM he sent crying for who-knows-what- dreadful-reason." She finished with a shiver.
"Wow...all that happened in less than an hour huh..." Rina leaned back on the chair she was sitting on.
"Now's not the time to be amaze." Eri said worriedly, gazing back at the report she was writing.
"Right. so when does your shooting start?" Rina asked enthusiastically.
"Eh? Chotto, what shooting? I didn't say I was doing it!" Eri gasped.
"Eh? Why not? what happened after?" Rina gasped this time.
"You called, thank goodness, then i realized I was late so I excused myself and ran as fast as i could away from them." Eri replied.
"Sonna... Why not?" Rina repeated half wishing she hadn't called her.
"What do you mean why not? Why would I? How could I?" Eri felt her face flushing red. "You're more suited to that. You're a model in a teen fashion magazine."
Rina blushed at that comment but tried to control herself. "That has got nothing to do with it. Don't try to change the subject. Plus, If you remember, you were the one who pushed me into trying out that modeling thing. So now it's my turn."Rina smirked.
"What do you mean? You love modelling." Eri retorted.
"I do. and I'm thankful to you for it. so I'm going to cheer you on this time." she answered."It's just a commercial right? You can do it."Rina encouraged her, smiling all the while watching Eri's expression in deep thought.
"I don't know. Well, by now, they probably forgot about it." Eri said after a while, her thoughts brought her back to the happenings that day.
