Companion to this amazing story by brigadiertardis.

Everybody knows that everybody dies.

Everybody except you.

You've seen them come and you've seen them go. Your companions, your lovers, your family. They move on or they get old and they die and you find a place deep inside your time ship to hide and just remind yourself that it's out there and you're safe ( Read more... )

I envy how well you write second person, I really do. That was beautiful.

First person is very hard for me, especially when writing a character who sits so often in self-denial like the Doctor. Second has an almost accusatory viewpoint, it makes it easier for me.

But thank you so much! This was hard to write, but I'm glad you liked it!

I think the use of second person really fits the Doctor. Because with all his ":D!!!!!!" there's a lot of ":[" too. (Which sounded so much more intelligent in my head, but whatever.)

You're awesome! 'Nuff said! :D

I said it before and I'll say it again: this made me cry (good) tears and I just love his reaction, the stages of his denial, acceptance. It's beautiful and haunting and thank you for writing it.

I'm glad you liked it. As you are the writer of the original heartbreaker, it means a lot to me. <3<3

Aw, you wrote it.

God. The last few lines. The Doctor's not the Doctor without the TARDIS. It's hard to even imagine him living without her. It's like they're symbiotic.

Well, technically they are! The Doctor has a symbiotic nuclei in his mind that connects him to the TARDIS. It's one of the reasons why the thought of her dying breaks my heart.

I'm so glad you liked it. <3<3

CANON I WILL CONQUER YOU. Srsly. This is what I get for only being exposed for...three months and then going out into the fandom :\

It's the best dynamic, though. It's always there, in the show, and it's really kind of poignant. A literal home is where your heart is, as it were.

I did~

You will! Just give it some time! Everybody had to start somewhere!

Good episodes to check out to learn a bit more about the TARDIS canon: Edge of Destruction, Castrovalva, The Two Doctors, Survival and a lot of the audios. They mention it a little in Journey's End, which I hope means that they'll talk more about it in later series.

This was AMAZING. So heartbreaking and beautiful and omg it had me not quite literally screaming nooooooooooooooooo at the screen. I only say not quite literally because I'm sitting in Starbucks and I get enough looks as it is.
