Doesn't it just make you feel sad? He's obviously choked up at times, and I'm in tears right along with him. I love his take on Sheppard's character, though.
"But I'm glad they told me!", this wry joke expresses all the bitterness in Joe's feelings. I think it must have been really shocking to be told in that quick way and quite close to the end of shooting season 5. Surely it was a difficult decision to take, but that doesn't justify that lack or respect (and "too much expensive production costs" is a poor excuse when you cancel a series just to replace it with another one equally expensive).
I'm glad Joe finally decided to speak out loud about SGA cancellation. When this all happened he acted more diplomatically than others in the cast, he just expressed general feelings of sorrow and nothing more (or maybe it was just me missing the right interviews!).
Anyway, 8th of July is our telepathic day about Joe and SGA cancellation! :D (And, if you have read the Gateworld article I linked in my entry: I totally agree with Joe, but it's just I misunderstood or his comment actually sounds a litle bit like a "Boycott SGU" invitation?)

A bit! He seemed concerned about the actors being jerked around by the PtB, and being considered expendable.
I thought it was interesting that Joe thought Vegas would have been a cool AU for them to explore. I loved the AU and if they hadn't killed off that John Sheppard, he'd have been a fantastic character to write. I know ... that's what fanfic is for! LOL!
