[Naoki's opening up the front door about the same time as that thud comes from the kitchen. He has a couple of books yoinked from the library in his arms. And maybe your luck is taking a turn, Gilbert, because by the time Naoki pops his head into the kitchen, Gilbert is finished his little secret broadcast.]

Love? [Spotting those bandaids.] Ah-- Are you okay? [He lays the books to the side, striding toward him.]

[Gilbert looks up a bit guiltily. Did Naoki here? No. He couldn't have, right? But he blinks at the question.] Hmm? Oh... mm. I'm all right. I had some trouble earlier...

[He moves to step towards Naoki, but his heel catches the edges of the cabinet and he goes sprawling once more instead. ...he's just going to stay down here now, ok? Face to the floor he adds, muffled.] It's been a rough day.

[Nope, he never heard! So that guilty look earns a puzzled glance.] Trouble?

[He's keeping secrets, Naoki. But they're secrets about a surprise party, so it'd be pretty tough to not have to keep that secret.

But Gilbert is a little too busy being a pile of failure on the floor to worry about feeling bad about secrets. He peeks up as Naoki helps him up, clearing his throat.] All day. Since this morning. I cut myself 4 times making a sandwich for lunch.

You've lost your voice? Figures it's you that goes silent while Break actually gets louder. [Life just isn't fair. At all.]
