I have a moral/ethical question for you all. Has to do with what's funny and what's not. Last night on city trade chat on WoW they were joking about child molestation. Now. I know, I know. Don't feed the trolls. Ignore them and move on. I always do that, even when I'm completely disgusted. However, this was really going too far. So I said

They are amazingly offensive and deserved to be banned, any of them who made those jokes. There are TOS for a reason.

It seems that Blizzard doesn't actually care about enforcing their TOS when it comes to things like this. Which is disconcerting >.

they should be banned (the vast majority of the people in the conversation), but honestly I really don't think wow gives a crap. There was a guy being really offensive toward women (sexist comments, jokes about rape) and my boyfriend said in general chat that it was offensive and he was going to report it. The dbag then reported my boyfriend, and WoW got pissy when he asked them if they bothered to look at his report, since he wasn't the one being offensive and reporting him was totally bogus. So Blizz really doesn't encourage doing the right thing.

I agree. It bothers me, but I don't think they care about enforcing reports of stuff like that. Which is just great. I actually sent them a message about my getting reported, since I wasn't the one who started it, nor was I joining in, but I just got a form letter response. I think they don't actually read reports, for one thing.

And why do these boys on WoW think rape is so fucking funny? So many of them do.
