Joie [10/10]

Title: Joie
Author: Faline
Summary: Beck defects. His army doesn't. Five years later, Heather finds him and knocks him out. She's hard core like that.
A/N: I really don't like writing happy/sappy endings. I feel like it's mostly a cop-out for my writing style. I don't mind reading them but I always feel like it's a Disney cookie-cutter ending ( Read more... )

fanfic: joie, pairing: heck, fanfic: jericho

Shock didn't even begin to describe the look on Beck's face.

Shock? Really? He does know how that happens, right?

Let's hope someone told him about the birds and the bees. If not, well then I imagine life is one big surprise for him on a daily basis.

{{sniffle}} I love happy endings. :)

most days they stayed wrapped inside one another in a hug longer than probably necessary. Most days it wasn't even to irritate Jake.

That was just a happy plus for them - hee!

No one was fooled after that first time when she'd insisted on sitting on the front porch and watching Beck chop wood, shirtless.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This mental picture just made my evening. (Yes, I'm that shallow).

declared that they'd have themselves an honest to god post-War baby sometime in December.

This is just a minor question - Emily was pregnant in the first chapter; I'm assuming this comment relates to the fact that the baby was conceived after the war had ended as well as being born after the war? (Hmmm...and what did Jake/Emily have??)

Beck decided on a wedding and right quick to.

Such a traditionalist!! Gotta love 'im!

Those in attendance equated it to the time Gracie Lee had loosened her grip on some of her product Okay - HAHAHAHAHA!! Sorry - just struck me as incredibly funny ( ... )

Yeah, me too. Only reason why I had to put that in there. Just thinking about Beck working out in the field in your story still gets me all bothered. lol

I, terrible person that I am, completely forgot that Emily was pregnant. We'll say she had a boy. A little boy that's going to raise hell and get in a ton of trouble until one day he falls in love with the Beck girl and then gets shot by her daddy.

And just because it bears repeating - I love happy endings. :)

I'm glad you like happy endings. I hope it was a happy ending worth the wait :)

LOL!! I thought it was a bit of a shout-out! That thought still gets me all bothered, too - and summer is coming, and I'll be working outside again. Who knows what I'll imagine to keep me motivated!!

This? Made me laugh really hard. It would take a brave boy to face ProtectiveDaddy!Beck, I think...

Yes, it was - except (as always) it's sad when a story ends. I hope you have other Heck fics in the works...[hopeful look].

This is the second time this plot line has come up in the comm. I'm thinking it's gotta be done, for posterity at least.
