I love things seem to coincide a lot these days. Over the weekend, I had been watching "Girl with a Pearl Earring" on DVD (and was pleased to find Susan Pevensie making an appearance as one of Vermeer's daughters).

I think that if I do pick up this book, I'm going to have a bit of trouble at first separating the real Mary from your Mary. And the other thought that came to mind as I read the description of the book? A mashup with Persuasion.

As for why you are writing The Queen Susan, it's because we want to learn more about Queen Susan and Peridan's escapades in the warm city of Tashbaan. And possibly seeing if you decide you want to go There.

I think The Universe wants me to read this book - one of my other bloggy friends reviewed this book just a day or two ago. Between my love for Jane Austen, and the interest you piqued in me for Mary Anning, I knew I had to read it.

Now I know even more! I am definitely shooting this to the top of my library list :)

What a strange world. We just finished discussing Darwin and his social difficulties in one class and began discussing gender roles in society in another. I am stunned by how timely this post is...

You are writing TQSiT first of al because it is brilliant, second of all because we all know how much everyone needs you to Go There. Keep Calm and Carry On.

Darn it, now there's something else I have to read. Oh well, there are 35 requests in front of me at the library, so I'll have to get some other stuff out of my "to-read" pile first.

And re autumnia and ilysia's comments, well nothing more that I can add than "hear, hear"

Ahh, thanks. I'm a bit under whelmed by it all, and having looked at the review counts for some other stories have decided that I really need to up quantity of brotherly romance (but not slash!) and add a thoroughly modern kick ass girl in ... uhh... Tashbaan? Oxford? Wait, that doesn't work, does it?
