This is really lovely. I really liked how not saccerine it is, in spite of the sweet message.

I really loved this line: Theirs wasn't a story of intensely passionate love, where the sun set behind each of their kisses. So evocative, even though it's about what they don't have.

Very cute. :) I love the simpleness, yet the message conveyed is very sweet.

Being very picky here, didn't The Little Mermaid technically give up her voice?

Well, in the Hans Christian Anderson version, The Little Mermaid ends a wee bit more tragically. I was going to go Disney on her, but since I was doing it as she read the stories, not saw the movies, I had to go the other way. But yes, she gave up her voice there, too.
