What I like most about this is the style--short, clipped, and really hard-boiled. This was a fun read, and it has me curious for more.

I really enjoyed this, and I'm curious about your people here. A noir feel, but also somehow western-ish. Beautifully done in a short piece!

Very nicely done! In a dystopian society, why not candles? This had a great feel to it. I agree -- very Western and noir. I was glad to see that "I know a guy" survives. I liked the explanation at the end as well, for the context.

This is sharp and immediate and feels very, very much in your control! Your world building is complicated without losing the reader. I love the idea of the saints!!! Your first person POV is refreshing and engaging. Great job with this!
