Prompt 3. Starlight, ”more than you, at least". Minho/Victoria
Rating: PG-13 | Genre: Romance | Disclaimer: I don't own them, SME does. Plot is mine. | Summary: He sees a different side of her for once. Maybe a little unpleasant, maybe a little too pleasant. He can't decide.

Warning: UN-BETA'D.

Minho isn’t used to seeing the different sides of Victoria’s. Their relationship has always been quite platonic - they see each other at work, greet each other occasionally, and though they seem to have a couple of friends in common, their paths had never quite intersected directly.

Until tonight.

“Look at her, just look!” Kyuhyun laughs.

The younger boy tears his eyes away from the glass in his hands and his eyes glance in the direction of the television. He hears Changmin laughing along, too.

“Ahh, that’s our Victoria,” Changmin chuckles.

They’ve obviously had a couple of drinks in their system; they don’t quite make sense.

“You speak as if I’m not sitting right beside you.”

Minho had forgotten that Kyuhyun and Changmin had invited Victoria to their little hangout, but it wasn’t rare for them to invite her. Heck, it happened all the time. He smiles - the corner of his lips stretching from ear to ear.

“Do you always use that tone with Nichkhun hyung?” He asks.

Victoria side-eyes him, her expression unreadable. Kyuhyun and Changmin give him a surprised look, as if admiring his courage.

Despite the rounds they’ve had to drink, they can still read danger as clear as day.

“What tone?” Victoria asks in return.

Minho points to the screen behind him with his thumb. “That tone.”

She would be lying if she said his words didn’t hit a spot in her chest - harsh and hard, destroying whatever pride she had been holding up. “No.”

“So honest,” Minho scoffs.

Victoria hardens are glare at him. “More than you, at least.”

Minho doesn’t quite understand what Victoria was referring to, but he shrugs it off as a drunken retort from a frustrated girl. Not uncommon.

Changmin and Kyuhyun clear their throats, passing around the wine bottle once more. Victoria excuses herself and walks to the deck with her wine glass in hand. The two older boys give Minho a look of disapproval, and he mutters something along the lines of ‘okay, i’ll apologize, before he follows her outside.

The night is cold - the stretch of the sky a dark blue black, with grayish clouds that block their view from the moon. Nothing could hide the starlight, though. It was much too bright; even for the stars themselves.

“It’s okay,” Victoria turns to smile at him. “I’m not mad.”

Minho laughs, and brings his glass to his lips. “What are you talking about, Noona? I’m just here to enjoy the view.”

Victoria smirks, the haze in her eyes blurred by the swirling red liquid in her hands. Her breaths are even - too slow, almost. “You’re handsome, Minho-ah. You look a little like him.”

“Him?” Minho asks. But then he remembers - he remembers that everyone tells him he has an uncanny resemblance to Nichkhun, to her husband. “Oh,” he deadpans, “him.”

“You’re unhappy about it?” She hums.

He doesn’t like the tone of her voice.

Victoria pulls him by the shoulder, positioning him to face her. Their eyes meet, and Minho forgets how to breath - she’s breathtaking, in so many ways. There’s something hidden in her dazed eyes, behind the smirk she wears. Something a little like weakness.

The stars shine so bright above them. Starlight so bright they could almost explode.

And her stomach churns when she watches him lean down, lean closer, until their lips attach. He sets his wine glass on the wooden rail and wraps his arms around her shoulders. Her wine spills on his shirt at the force, but he dismisses it, luring her closer.

Minho dreads this night, the night he loses control over himself. He’s always been so good at hiding his feelings for her - so good at playing nonchalant - but this one night, he loses his resolve.

When they part, her smirk is long gone, replaced by a sincerely happy smile. “See? Told you.”

“What?” He asks nervously.

“That I’m more honest than you are,” she chuckles.

He continues staring at her with a confused look, and she simply shakes her head, retreating back into the room and returning to Kyuhyun and Changmin. The two boys are grinning at him widely, high-fiving Victoria as she sits down.

Suddenly, he gets it.

Honesty. Jealousy.

Seems like he wasn’t as good at hiding his feelings as he thought, after all.
