Five Things I'm Thankful For

Mar 30, 2010 18:46

I've been cranky all day. There isn't anything particularly wrong with my life, so there's no real reason for it. (Well, mostly. I'm a little tired and it's allergy season, but I can deal with that.) So to try and counter that, here are five things I'm thankful for, in no particular order:

friends, gabe/victoria, goings on in my head, cobra starship, food, the cab, thankfulness, recs, recs: other, bandom

I had the "coconut cream" flavor, and while it wasn't really what I'd consider creamy, it did have a lot of coconut! I'd buy again.

Huh. I specifically mentioned the apple because I wouldn't buy the coconut again, only because it's not as good as homemade date pecan balls with coconut.

I must admit, I'm not big on fruit-flavored bars of any sort. The Luna bar flavors that I haven't tried yet are all fruit flavors, mostly because I'd rather eat the nut and/or chocolate flavored ones (white chocolate macadamia is still the winner!). I think if I wanted something fruit-flavored I'd probably just eat fruit, and now that I think about it, I've never really liked much of anything that has a fruit kind (apple cinnamon granola bars as a kid, for example). Huh.

Mmmm, coconut-rolled date balls. Now I want those, ha.

Huh. I like fruit flavored things!

Date balls: dates (maybe a cup?), 2 cups pecans, cinnamon, coconut. Soak the dates for about an hour, then drain and combine in the food processor with the pecans and cinnamon. Form into balls and roll in coconut. Keep in the refrigerator. (They're really good cold.) If you're like me, these will not last long at all.
