That was adorable and funny! I love the witty domesticity of it - they seem so happy and in love. You know what I mean, it's one of those things in which they are so happy with each other that it allows them to have adventures and fun friendships with people like Lily. No angst, just fun. I like that.

I also very much appreciated your vision of Sirius as cooking well, being a good host, and having an elaborate filing system for his music. I could very much see him being like that. He has such an expansive personality: he's very generous by nature, but also seems to love to enjoy himself. Consequently, I bet he would love to cook and give parties - especially ones that include Remus getting drunk and dancing on the table and other sorts of delightful debauchery.

This bit really cracked me up: Sirius frowned. “Accio Lily’s Mocking Note.” A piece of parchment, folded to look like a swan, flew through the air from the record shelf and landed neatly on the table. It unfolded itself and made a noise that was suspiciously like McGonagall

Thank you for this wonderful comment! I like to try and bring fun and levity to my Small Gifts fic. If only so I can put them through the wringer the rest of the time and not feel so bad about it!

My personal canon is that Remus is hopeless at cooking, and Sirius has basically banned him from the kitchen. Sirius enjoys cooking because he never got to when he was growing up, and Remus is really bad at it because his mother and father shared the cooking but both were not very interested in it. So it is nutritious just not tasty or particularly enjoyable. Sirius thinks this is horrifying. But he does create truly horrific messes in the kitchen because he always forgets there aren't millions of houselves just waiting to clean up after him.
