This was so good - the way Cas is so casually tactile, and especially with Sam, was so perfect to me. Even more so the way Sam makes a point to open up for Cas and share all of his experiences. And although a part of me (a possessive, jealous Sam/Cas-loving part) wanted to be dissatisfied with Cas' inability to be exclusive, I really can't be. Because Cas isn't human, and Sam's got the ability to think things through past his own impressions and instincts and see that it doesn't really change anything between them. If that makes sense.
tl;dr: ugh ugh ro just take all of my feelings, you already own them.
Yeah when I was talking with my beta, Dea, we had a long discussion about whether Castiel should actually do anything with Yasmine or if it we just wanted it to be her flirting and trying to get in his pants (and getting Sam jealous). We ended up deciding that because Sam instinctively/culturally expected monogamy, him putting his foot down on that idea would invariably get between Castiel and his end goal of understanding the full scope of humanity. In any case, while Castiel's experience with Yasmine was good, it's meant to be uncomfortable for Sam. No one that reads it is meant to think AWWW YISS CASTIEL GOT HIS GAME ON because we're all so invested in everything that's developing between Castiel and Sam, but Castiel doesn't get that and can't until Sam opens up and tells him

I was just utterly absorbed in this all the way through. The amazing sensuality and the curiosity between the characters and the rising sexual tension and skjghkjgh my brain was basically like !!!!!!! through every single word of this! It's such a different and complex take on a budding relationship, and I was so anxious to see how it'd turn out (and while it didn't end the way I expected, I can't say I'm disappointed in it at all. Impressed, actually!)
I don't actually read SPN AUs that often (SASSY IS THE EXCEPTION TO NEARLY ALL OF MY FIC HOLDUPS, HEH) but the characterization here is just so perfect that it's easy to imagine the canon characters in this universe and slipping into these roles. Superbly done! I still haven't stopped smiling. :D
Eeeeeeeee, thank you so very much! It's been interesting (and somewhat frustrating) to see people's reaction to how Castiel and Sam ended together, so I'm very glad that it pleased you despite being unexpected. ;D
This was amazing! The way both characters felt seemed so realistic, and the evolution of their relationship was really clear for me. And... yeah, the end is just so cute it hurts.
