Adoption Article Draft for MOMS Club Newsletter

So, I volunteered to write a little bit about adoption for our MOMS Club newsletter. I started out writing a novel. I still think that this is too long, and I can't come up with a conclusion. Because it's just a newsletter, they're not concerned with where my facts come from, but you might want to know that they come from Adoptive Families magazine ( Read more... )

It looks fine to me. There are probably a few places you could chop a word or two out of a sentence, but it doesn't come off as too wordy to me.

Max and I signed with our agency in May and Jack was born the following June. That’s 8 months;

Really? That's either 1 month or 13 months.

If you needed to cut, I'd recommend cutting the stuff about international adoptions. Heck, you could cut everything about foster adoptions, too. Just focus on your adoption and include a few token sentences on the other types.

I go with spec's opinion. You forgot stepparent adoptions, and someone's going to get a sore paw over nothing. Not worth dealing with. :)

I did wonder if you had an easier time because you and Max opted for an open adoption?
