[There's a familiar female face on the screen. She's silent, looking around for awhile before turning her attention back to the device in her hand.]

This is Shelke --Rui. What is my location?

[Small again? Must be a new iteration.]

You're in a town called Never Was, that is in turn in a world in constant flux.

That seems like a rather rehearsed answer. I should assume I'm not the first person to ask?

[Perceptive as always]

There is not one person here who is a native of the place. Not even the mayor.

You're back.

[Although she has nothing to compare to, Kefka's not terribly enthused as he speaks. Rosso is goooone and Kefka isn't taking it well.]

You were here, once, but you left. And you are here once more, Shelke of the Tviets.

I don't recall ever being here and I haven't been a member of the Tsviets for some time now.

Kefka was telling the truth. I was here before then.

Of all the people in this place, Kefka's probably the only one who does tell the truth.

Someone who doesn't feel the need to answer a question of who they are directly has questionably trustworthy.

[Well there was a familiar face... sort of. He never thought he'd see her again, but he remembers her from before. She had helped him so much. Even if she had only raised more questions and confusion. He cannot leave her without aid, even if it's mostly useless.]

Shelke-

[Careful, he must be careful now as judging from her question she has no memory of having been here before. He has learned that blunt questions deserve blunt, if careful, answers though, and the irony of their reversed situations is not lost on him. Just a short time ago it was he who was asking where he was and she had been the one to answer.]

You're in a town called Never Was. I do not know where it's located, nor do I know how it came to be, only that it pulls us here from different worlds... [softer] and different 'whens'.

["and that we cannot voluntarily leave" remains unspoken. It is a hard topic for him to address.]

Are you well?

Vincent Valentine. [Though she was mostly as expressionless as before, there was a obvious loss of anxiety in her eyes when she saw him.]

As I've been told by others. It is not hard to accept.

[She nodded.]

However, I don't know how long I will last. I need to find Mako.

[She recognizes me, he thinks. It's still just as eerie as it was the first time he had met her. Someone from his future... would she know the things that her previous self had known? Part of him longed to question her, but the better part of him knew that now was not the time. She was lost and would need those she could trust...

But why would she need mako?]

That is worrying, Shelke. [He frowns in thought]

I haven't heard of the existence of mako here, but from what I've been able to conclude of this world- based on those whom I have spoken with, I have reason to believe that if this world pulls you here and there is something that you might require, then it should be made available to you. As for it's location...

[He sighs softly]

That is another matter. I would suggest speaking with Kefka. While questionably trustworthy, he is knowledgeable, and he worked closely with Dr. Crescent while she was here so if anyone were know of the existence of mako and its whereabouts then it would probably be him; however, I shall keep ( ... )

I've already spoken with Kefka. The tailor. I would only like to go to him if I have no other option.

[It was clear from the way she spoke she felt something was off about the person in question.]

I require daily injections or baths or Mako to sustain my body. Being a soldier of Deepground I was made heavily dependent on it for survival. Without it or some alternative, I will perish.
