Well first I would like to know which is the spelling everyone likes using.

Next, her personality in general. from what I remember, she undergoes a change in every game she's in.

And for lastly, just what about her life outside of Gensokyo? This is a subject that could easily be brought up, especially in certain settings. Also, since she seems to know about mecha and the like, how much on the up and up would she be with... things of that nature?

I started with Kotiya, but have since been using Kochiya as it's from the more commonly used form of romanization. And honestly, hepburn romanization just SOUNDS better. Anyhoo

She's had no new canon material since SWR (GoM doesn't go into much on her personality). So if you go back and review, you should be fine. She's a tough character to play, yeah, but doing a canon review first would help you pinpoint specific concerns in playing her.

Also been out of the fandom for a while. I'm trying to gather up materials for canon reviewing, so any tips anon has to offer would be great.

The wiki's got all her scripts, which are of course the most basic of material to read up on. Remember to also read the scripts of Alice's appearances in other characters' routes.

Other things to note:
1. Are you going to incorporate her PC-98 appearances ("Lolice") in your portrayal? There are enough similarities for PC-98 Alice and Alice Margatroid to be the same person, but there has never been official confirmation, so it's up to you to decide.
2. Alice is prone to wildly OOC representations in fanon, so while you can get icons from doujins or Flash videos, keep in mind that a lot of fanworks actually deviate from her canon personality to a certain extent.
