First thing that comes to mind is Maya's image- one that she's going to go to great lengths to protect. It's easy to see her as being vain and egotistical, though, ultimately, she IS willing and tempted to do the right thing, must to her chagrin- most of this stems from her desire to keep up her image as an independent, fearsome femme fatale treasure hunter. That's the first thing that comes to mind.

This isn't going to be very good, but I'll try!

The most important thing is to balance all sides of him: trolly crazy, serious, creepy. He's got his big façade going on and a lot under it. So you just have to make sure to pay close enough attention to know where the façade falls and srs bsns Break comes out?

The only other thing I'll mention is to keep up the social networking and all that. Information = love, and so he's going to want to make a lot of CR and links among people. So he can milk as much info from them all as possible. That may well mean half your CR is using people! But hey, it's what he does.

Hopefully... some of that helped.

fff yeah that's where most of my concern lies, actually: balancing Break's façade with his more serious side. The game I play him at does have a Gilbert, which perhaps helps a little, but aaah. Working out where it ends and his serious side starts is kind of difficult orz

I think your best bet for working that out would be to re-read (... or re-watch if you're going by anime, which I doubt) some of his scenes in canon. Take note of when it is in canon that he switches from his goofy side to serious!Break. Try to think of the reasons - whether it's a subject or a situation. Obviously a lot of them won't come up directly in RP settings, but just think of ways to apply them. Like he gets serious when Sharon's in trouble? Just apply that to anyone he makes close, good CR with in your game. As an example.

I've never really played Maka Albarn, but....maybe you should try relaxing? I've seen some of your Dear_mun posts related to your grasp on her voice, and it seems like you worry so much, when you really shouldn't, and that's not good for you. Not only that it's not good for you, but it'll just make playing her even more difficult until the point where you might not be able to play her at all for a while ( ... )

Anon, you are truly a sweetheart. Just...wow, I can't really think of words right now. Just really thank you for trying to help me and I will consider everything that you said and also thank you for the fanart! [is totally saving them] But yes, I think that maybe I do need to relax. There has been a lot going on IRL and with stuff in game. And it's been going on for a good month now. Usually, I just overlook all the drama and just continue playing her like it didn't existed--but I think this time it finally caught up to me and left me very insecure in a lot of things with her and question what is IC and what isn't. And before you commented, I placed myself on hiatus but I was still a bit lost on what I needed to do to fix her. But now, I have some guidance and I have you to thank for.

I've kicked around the idea of apping Guillo myself before (someday I might still get around to it, honest!); it's been a little while now, I don't have personal playing experience to go off of, and I don't know if I could whip up a full analysis, but is there anything particular you want to discuss?

High five! I seriously didn't think anyone would reply to this at all, so the fact that you did at all makes me kinda happy, anon :D

AND well less anything particular, more that I'm ... not quite sure where to start, and I'm hesitant about jumping straight in when I'm not that experienced with this fandom. Just any pointers at all, really?

Aw, don't worry too much. I mean, let's be honest here, there... isn't a lot of fandom to be experienced with. ^^;

I'm honestly not sure, though... I'm not sure I've even seen any real fanfic. Have you thought about whether you'd be taking it from postgame or earlier, in light of the ending? Which one is more viable depends on you and your circumstances, but I can see it making a real difference in how Guillo builds CR in a new place. Especially since it tends to be fairly Sagi-focused throughout the game (and unless you're going in with people, for which I'd envy you, you prooobably can't count on getting castmates too quickly). Putting some thought into that and the ramifications of it might make a good starting point for you; I can see a few ways to play that.

By the way, I don't have the link right now but I know there's someone or other on youtube who has videos going through most of the game, if that helps.
